"I don't know about this", Jenny shivered. Xavier took her hand and dragged her along as I hung back. I like to take in the surroundings of my home even though I've seen them. I look out in the distance and see our tiny village.

"Akira! Come on!", Jenny called down the hill. Right now I'm going mud sledding with my best friends Jenny and Xavier. They are mates thanks to me of course. I fixed them up and made them feel happy. Everybody says I make things better when I'm around. I think they were exaggerating, but everyone smiles when they see me. My Mom and Dad says that's why my names Akira. It means happy wolf and it makes everything around it beautiful.

"Are you ready for this?" Xavier teases. All three of us change into our wolf forms. Jenny has amber fur and Xavier is a white and grey. As for me I'm a plain brown wolf mixed with some black and white furs.

"Last one to the bottom is a rotten runt!" I challenge them before I ran down the muddy hill.

"You're on!", Xavier accepted with Jenny following behind.

I ran ahead of them knowing they will catch up any minute. I'm not skilled at power, but strategy is. Mud flicked me in the face with every step. I go to dodge a rock, but slip in the process. I roll until I start to slide on my back. I roll to my side and try to stand. Next thing I know I am on my paws sliding. Happiness pushes me to open my snout and howl, but I force my mouth shut not wanting to eat mud. I look back and see Xavier and Jenny doing the same. Jenny didn't look like she enjoys getting dirty, but being lonely is worst. It's a wolves worst fear unless its thats wolf's wish is to be a loner. But it isn't easy to be one either.

I see the mud was coming to an end. Though I was still going at a alarming speed. I peer back at those two, which were already off running after me. Panick started to sink in and lose my balance. Causing me to yelp and slide out of control. Once I reached the end point, I went flying into the woods. To my surprise it wasn't that painful of a fall. I was then sliding off something. No, correction. Someone! I back off and take a look at the creature. It was a white wolf that was now covered in my mud. It growled at me at first, but then just stared at me.

"Are you okay, Akira?" Jenny shot through the bushes.

"That was some ride you went on right there", Xavier shook off some mud.

"Yeah. I'm mostly worried about this guy. I crushed him when I flew through the air"

"I'm okay. Just...", he looks at one of his paws shaking the mud off it,"A little filthy"

"Sorry about that"

"White fur, not good", Xavier shook his head.

I haven't seen you around before", Jenny glared. Everybody knows everyone with having a tiny village in all. We are very territorial since the vamps are closing in.

"Easy there. I'm here for a Pack Meet", he shifts back. Once assured we do the same revealing our identities. Don't worry we have special clothes that cover our bodies when we shift back.

"So who are you? And what pack?" Jenny asks, still in defence. He had a red plaid button-up shirt over a black tanktop and blue jeans. His messy blonde hair from me crashing into him.

"I'm Slade the 1st class Beta. My pack is the Lunar Pack. And you guys are?" He answered. To clarify the ranks, there's a Male and Female Alpha, at least five Betas, Warriors/Watchers, subordinates/members, and the omegas.

"This is Jenny, Xavier, and I'm Akira. Jenny is one of our subordinates and Xavier is a warrior in training. I'm one of the Betas of the leaders of the Lycan Pack", I explain. My parents told me to say I'm a Beta and not the Alpha's daughter for safety-related purposes. Slade raised a brow and crossed his arms.

"Never seen a Beta play in mud before or goof off from there responsibilities", he snorted.

"I've finished my duties how about you, smart one", I shot back. He raised his hands up in surrender and chuckles.

"How about we head there together", Slade asks. We all nod and follow behind him all the way home.

When we get there we go our separate ways. I arrive at my huge hut compared to the others. Sneaking my way in, I find my parents in the kitchen. They gasps when they see me all cover in mud. Mom kicked me outside and dumped a bucket of water on me. My clothes were damp, so not to get a cold I shifted until I was dry enough. I step back inside the hut and sat down in one of our wooden chairs.

"What did I tell you about mud sliding?" Mom scolded.

"To get clean before stepping a paw or foot in the house and stay clean on a pack meet", I sighed.

"We didn't inform her about this one, Angela", Dad told Mom.

"I know that, Dean", Mom put her hand in her hip. Mostly they tell me when a pack meet will be coming. What's going on today?

"What's this pack meet about? The vamps again?" I guessed. They looked at each other with worried looks.

"Somewhat. But this one's a different conversation about them", Mom says, sitting down as well.

"How different?" I investigate her answer. It took them a while to answer before saying anything.

"We are limiting the grounds of the territory. Which means you can't leave the village without protection", Dad answers my question. I can't believe this! That's a way of ripping off the band aid Dad!

"Please understand that this is for everyone's safety and for you too", Mom coaxed. I forced myself to look at them and smile.

"I understand", I say, making them smile in return. I felt like running away to the mountains and never coming down. After that talk, I head to my room and lay on my wool bed.

You're probably not understanding what the big deal is with staying in the village. Well for one it's the most a smallest village ever. It's like seven huts wide and seven huts long. Our hut is in the middle of everything. Second there's nothing to do around here. Except for chores, work, and planting seeds. How would you feel being trapped here and nothing to do?

Our pack meets are mostly at dusk so I better get ready. I put on my grey hoodie over my white tank top and my worn out short jeans. No one really wears shoes around here. I guess you can say we have tough feet but perfectly soft. Prepare for a boring and displeasuring pack meet of your life.
