That shadowy man was the Alpha of all wolves. If you are lost to what I am saying then let me lay down some of our history on you. It all started with one ginormous pack of wolves. This kept all the vampires away and us at ease. Everyone got along with each other except for two people. The Alpha of all wolves and my Dad. Dad didn't like the way the Alpha was running the place. With the elder wolves getting ban from the pack for being too weak and pups that are too small get abandoned deep in the forest. One day, the Alpha took it too far and banned a little boy from the pack for stealing food. Which was for his little runt sister that's mother had died. Before he could do so, Dad stepped in and protested against him.

Soon people began choosing sides and started a huge fight. Dad created his own pack called the Lycan Pack. Then another person, who was Dad's closest friend, created a pack called the Lunar Pack. Next came along a pack called the Moon Howlers. Which is a pack of outcasted wolves that had vanished a few years ago. Whoever stayed with the Alpha was one pack called the Shadow Pack. Therefore, the four great packs were created. So there you have it. It wasn't long before I was born after the departure. Makes me think how the Mate Races were invented.

"Ready! Set!" My Dad hollered,"Go!"

I jump at my Dad's booming voice snapping me back to reality. Mom motioned me off to start running. I dashed off into the evergreen trees. My heart is already pumping even though I just started running. My paws pounding against the earth below me. I started to count to twenty while searching for a descent muddy and leafy area to roll in. When I'm far enough away from the destination I was at I slowed down. Still rushing to find a muddy patch of dirt, I take a sniff at the air. I know Slade's scent, but not Nathaniel's scent so there is a disadvantage there. But I can hear who is coming and going. No one is close to me....yet. After awhile of searching I discovered a mud patch and rolled in it even bathe in it. That should do it and now for a hideout. I run off to find myself a good place to stay hidden. My fur that is now clumped together with dried mud and is matted from rolling around so much, irritated me. Mostly because I am caked in it and it's making me stiff. Suddenly I hear someone right behind me. I swinged my head around to spot the commotion. But, no one was there just trees. I'm being paranoid just because of this race. Plus there is nothing to be afraid of. They just have to catch me, make their victory howl, and take me back to the others. It's like the vamps are out here this far. Cause they haven't been spotted this close to the mountain wolves. So no worries about it. My eye catches a hollow log that I can fit into. I wedged myself into the log hoping it wouldn't roll. It took a long time for anything to happen. But Slade came across my trail all confused and puzzled. Pacing back and forth, Nathaniel comes into play. He stared at Slade's nose floating above the ground.

"Aren't you going to search for her?" Slade prowled around my log. Nathaniel sat down and huffed before looking away from him.

"Not much of a talker, huh?" Slade stopped patrolling. Nathaniel just blinked at him and gazed back into the forest. Slade walked away from my position and stood on a tiny hill studying the area for any signs of me.

Soon they finally left with my plan working greatly. I let out a breathe I didn't know I was holding in. Now all I have to do is wait. Laying my head on my paws, I perceive a little faint sound of foot steps coming closer. The scent isn't Slade's so it should be Nathaniel then. But it felt as if I should flee from my hiding spot. Just run away fast as I can. My log began to creak meaning someone was on top of me. My heart stops and so does my breathing. Please....no. The noise stopped right at the end of the log where my head was. I flinched when a head dangled in front of me. It's flashing fangs told me he was a vampire!

"Well isn't this my lucky day. A Alpha's daughter of the Lycan Pack perfect catch of the day", he taunts me. I struggle to back out of the long when it's picked up off the ground.

"Don't worry you don't have to get out. I'll carry you like the gentleman I am", the vampire pats the log with his free hand. I shift into my human form and slip out. Scrabbling to my feet, I sprint off where Slade and Nathaniel had gone. My breathing was out of control from hyperventilating. This can't be happening! This can't happen! I start to cry like a child from panicking.

"If you want a chase on the side, a chase you'll get!" He yells in a teasing tone. His words haunt my ears making me break down. I begin to scream when I felt him behind me. But he's not taking me down. Why? I notice an enjoyable smile on his face. This is what he wants my fear, my screams, the terror on my face. I'm giving him what he wants. But I can't help it. Soon he'll get bored with this game and attack. I'm doomed. I spot a white object in the distance. Only one name popped into my head to cry out to before my dead line.

"Slade! Hel-", I cried out, before something sharp poked me. I stumble and seek out the sharp object that was stuck to me. It was a small metal piece with a needle. The small object fell out of my heads as I slump down to my knees. I look back at the blurry white spot that was coming to me. The rest of my body collapsed to the ground. But, a pair of arms picked me up.

"Sorry for this, but I've got orders to follow", the vampire spoke. I reach out to Slade looking more of a blur. Tears trickle down my cheeks as I stare at him with lazy eyes. Before I knew what happened next. My world went pitch black. Then all I could think of is Nathaniel.
