Samuel, Brendan, and Cassandra in that order got off their hands and knees quickly bowing. With their faces facing the ground I could see their faces still. They all look nervous and worried about the vampire's presents. I sat there like a bump on a log trying to process what's going on.
"Is your ears working today, Mutt?", I gaze up at the red eyes of the vamp. My body goes tense and I could not find any words to say. Who is this guy? What just happened to me? Give me a second! Did he just call me mutt.
"I'm many things, but I'm no mutt", I raise my head high. It didn't really intimidate him because I was sitting and he was standing above me. My confidence did go up a little. He seemed amused with my actions against him.
"So what are you?" He stroked his chin smiling evilly,"A stray, a mongrel, a runt, a pet, or maybe just a little bitch?"
My jaw hit the floor at the last one he named off. Did he seriously just call me that. Out of all the things he could have called me he says that one word. In my village, calling a woman that was against the pack law. It is considered disrespecting the she-wolf sex as not being equal to all wolf men.
"What's the matter, Little Bitch? Isn't that what you are? Did I push the right buttons? Are you going to wag your tail at your new name? Or maybe even roll over?" He taunts me. Who does he think he is? The vamp kneeled down to my level making me look into his dark red eyes. Taking my chin between his index finger and thumb. My breathing hetched at how close he was.
"I-I'm...uh...", I stammered. At a lost for words of what to say back. What is he doing? My hesitation is taking me over and making me sound like I'm having a total nervous breakdown.
The vamps face went bleak and backed away from me. He looked down the hall and sighed,"You've made me bored, Wolf. Now I must tend to my work", he walks away leaving me with glass on my lap. Sitting on the cold floor that has chilled my bare thighs. Thanks to the stockings being cotton they keep part of my legs right below my knees warm.
Cassandra crouched by my side,"You got balls, Akira. I mean serious, tough nut balls", she says, patting my back. How do I have balls? How did I even get balls in the first place?
"Did you even know who you were arguing with?" Brendan waved his arms in panick. I shook my head and Brendan along with Samuel face palmed.
"That was the one person you don't mess with. Unless you want your insides to be your outsides. Or even worse they brainwash you until you can't think anymore", Brendan babbled on.
"Tell me who it was already!" I urged him to get to the point. Samuel came by his side and shoved Brendan to the side.
"That vampire is Mason, one of the sergeants of the three worshipped symbols. Which is also known as the Emperor's son", Samuel,"I thought you would of known that. Since he did scare the color out of you at first"
I was scared, but at the same time I was not. His eyes is what terrified me the most. Once I looked away I felt fine like I was just talking to a normal person.
"Come on, Akira. Let's get back to laundry duty", Cassandra picks the glass from my lap. I joined in getting the glass shards off me and into the trash. After that Cassandra and I went back waving goodbye to Brendan and Samuel. Well at least I did, she didn't. We finished up all the reds and whites. Cassandra said we were done for today of all the duties for us. Suprisingly, she has a room right down the hall from me. So we planned to head over to her room to plan the escape. While passing by the garden of roses I saw Jennete and Bridget fertilizing the soil.
"Jennete! Bridget!" I called, waving at them. Bridget's eyes lit up and sprinted over to me. Jennete casually made her way over wiping sweat from her forhead. It was very humid and hot outside today. Now that I notice my hair has been crazy lately because of the humid air.
"Hi, Akira! Didn't plan on seeing you again", Bridget smiled crazily. Seems that her smile brightens up my day a bit more each time I see it.
"Yeah, I'm on Cleanser duty right now with Cassandra", I put my arm around her. Hoping that she wouldn't flip me over onto my back like Brendan.
"Ugh, cleaning is the worse! It's so boring compared to other jobs", Bridget took my hands in hers. Jennete appeared by her side smiling normal. Her non flashing, hyper smile that Bridget gives off. Those two were meant to be together like bark on a tree.
"Where are you heading now?" Jennete placed her hand on her hip.
"We were just going to-"
"See if anyone else needs their clothes washed", Cassandra interrupted me,"Anyway we better get going it was nice meeting you all though"
She posed a smile upon her face herding me away. What's up with her? I thought we were finished with all we have to do. Now she wants us to do more work. Out of hearing and seeing distance from them she let go of me.
"Don't go telling random people what we are up to. It's too much of a risk. Because being here makes you not know who to trust. Not even our own kind sometimes", Cassandra instructed me. She's was right. I shouldn't be spouting out information on our plans. For all we know a snitch could be around.
"So....are we really going to do more work?" I smirk. She gave me a crazy look as if I'm out of my mind.
"Hell no!" She exclaimed, grinning. I laugh at her reaction knowing I've brighten her day. Now for the plan to escape this hell hole they call home.
