'Welcome to Altheim Online! Please chose the name you wish to be identified as.'
I outstretched my hand and typed in 'Silica' I never used my real name , Keiko, because then no one I knew would know it's me... I wouldn't have to worry about what they thought of my levels or anything I did.
'Which of the fairy types do you want to be classed as?'
I had a look through the them. I chose Cat sith, because I like cats.
'Please create your avatar.'
I began to choose hair cuts, outfits and weapons; for hair I chose pigtails, but slightly more scruffy and a lighter shade than my previous avatar's in SAO. For the outfit, I chose a similar design to my outfit in SAO, but it was a deep blue rather than a scarlet red. And for the weapons, I just chose two daggers. Once I had selected the 'finished avatar' option, I was spawned into the game. It was magical. There were people flying everywhere, wings outstretched as they carelessly soared through bright summer sky. I looked up in utter awe. It truly was a dream come true. I stared up at the sky for what seemed forever, until I decided that I wanted to have a go at flying for myself. Then I realised I had no idea how. I just stood there, kind of dumbstruck for a while until I plucked up the courage to go and ask someone for help. I approached a tall, blonde girl.
"Urm..." I murmured tugging on the other girl's sleeve. "I-I'm kind of new to this game...urm... I-I was wondering if you c-could teach me how to fly?...." I felt my cheeks heat up as I looked up at her. She had the most beautiful, mesmerising , emerald-green eyes that I had ever seen. And her long, blonde ponytail fell effortlessly over her shoulder. She looked down at me, and then her perfect, smooth face curved upwards into pleasant smile.
"Sure!" She said with a smile. "Oh, I'm Leafa by the way... Who are you?" I looked up,at her and with a faint blush I replied.
"Oh...I-I'm Silica."
"Silica... That's a beautiful name." She answered joyfully. "Anyway'" she added. "Come on, I'll take you to an open space away from town to practise." She began to walk away as I clutched onto her sleeve again to avoid loosing her in the large crowd of people. Before I knew it, she out stretched her large, green wings and started to fly; holding me tightly in her arms so I wouldn't fall. At first I was terrified. I was up so high! What if I fell? What if.... I couldn't think of anything else negative to say, feeling Leafa's arms around me, feeling her soft breath on the back of my neck; I felt safe. It felt as if I was really flying, I outstretched my arms and felt myself begin to chuckle; and before I knew it, that chuckle was giggle, and then the giggle was a full out laugh. Leafa just looked down at me in her arms, and I'm pretty sure I saw a smile escape her pink lips and spread across her face as fast as butter spreads on toast. Eventually though, this magical moment took an abrupt stop. Leafa stopped flying. Her wings disappeared. We both began to fall. I screamed. However, to my surprise, Leafa hugged me; well more like curling up in a ball around me. This eased me a little, but it still didn't change the fact we were falling through the air. We made contact with the floor and I felt the wet grass slap me as we made impact. But it didn't really get me that much. Leafa had put herself underneath me, so she would take the majority of the crash.
"Hey, Leafa... Are you okay?" I asked gingerly as I looked up at her from within her arms.
"Yeah..." She said rubbings her back a little. "Dammit, I should of remembered I can only fly for a certain amount of time..." She just chuckled. "Heh, never mind. At least we're both okay." She just smiled at me. "So, Sil, how about this flying lesson?" She added as she stood up and offered me a hand. I took it and let her help me up.
"Yeah," I said cheerfully. "That's a good idea"------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
