"Okay..." Said Leafa as she tilted her head to a side; causing her long, blonde hair to hang over her shoulder. She looked into my brown eyes with her emerald green ones, causing me to blush a bit. "So," she said. "Lemme teach you how to fly." She took my hand in her own and began to run towards the middle of the field. "This way," she explained, looking at me over her shoulder; a smile plastered onto her perfect face. "If we're in the middle we have more space for crash landings," she said with a smirk. "And because no one will see or make fun of you if it takes you a few tries." I felt myself blush as her smile just got wider; and I honestly couldn't tell whether she was being nice or making fun of me. From the little time I had known this girl, I had learnt that she was rather bold.
"Don't worry!" I said skipping along besides her, to keep up with her running, "I'll do my best!"
"That's the spirit!" She confirmed happily as eventually we came to a stop. After all that running (well I was skipping, Leafa was the only one actually running...) I was rather worn-out. I layer down on the soft grass and looked up at the orange evening sky. It looked so real, but I knew it was just a virtual image, created by thousands of little pixels. "Hey," said Leafa, laying down besides me. "Isn't it beautiful." She smiled, her beautiful gem-like eyes glinting slightly. I looked at her pale, smooth face.
"Yeah..." I said, turning back onto my back as I lay staring up at the fiery sky. "It is."
There were a few minutes of silence as we lay together on the floor, looking up past the virtual clouds and into reddening atmosphere.
"Anyway!" Said the older girl sitting up and flashing me a smile. "It's time to teach you how to fly!" I stood up obediently, full of anticipation and excitement as I watched the blonde intently, awaiting instructions. To my surprise, I felt two hands be placed on my back. "You feel the spot I'm pressing?" She said. I had no idea what she was doing. She was touching my back. I felt my face heat up red. Seeing as Leafa was behind me; she didn't see this. "If you really had wings, this would probably be where the muscles would connect, right?" She continued. Realising that the girl was trying to help; not just touch my back put me at ease as I felt my cheeks cool down.
"Yes." I replied.
"I need you to imagine that you have wings; and you need to try to flap them." She said softly. "You are a bright girl, you can do that right?" I wasn't sure what was up with this girl, what ever she said, it made me feel special.... Maybe we could be very close friends....
"Okay!" I answered nodding my head with enthusiasm, causing my pigtails to bounce up and down a bit as I did so. Leafa just smiled at me.
"Your so cute, you know that right?" She cooed, ruffling my hair before pulling me in for a hug. I blushed. I wasn't sure what was wrong with my cheeks today, I think I'm coming down with something.... Leafa took a step back to give me some take-off space. I didn't think I could do it... What if I couldn't get down? But more importantly, what if I couldn't get up? I just stood there for a while. I felt my eyes prickle with tears. I couldn't do this, it was way to hard. Just then; I felt myself lift off of the ground. I smiled. No. I beamed. I flew around, laughing with joy as I did so.
"THANK YOU LEAFA!" I yelled out from up in the clouds as I looked down at her. I saw her smile and give me a 'thumbs up' after a few minutes; I landed. I looked at Leafa, her beautiful blonde hair; her mesmerising green eyes; her pale-pink lips.
'Wait.' I thought, with a heavy heart. 'She's finished teaching me... Does that mean we go our separate ways?' I wasn't quite sure why, but I couldn't stand the thought of her leaving, even thought I'd only known her such a short while.... Oh no, was she going to leave me... Like Kirito did? I sighed. No matter what, I would always end up alone... I felt myself begin to cry.
"Please don't leave me!" I sobbed, hugging her and crying into her shoulder. She was rather taken-aback and I felt her tense up slightly. But then she stroked my head softly.
"Hey, hey, don't cry...." She said, stroking my fringe out of my face and looking into my chocolate brown eyes. "Why would I leave?" I looked at her.
"Y-your going to leave, just like Kirito did..." I sobbed.
"Nope." She said bending down slightly and hugging me. "I'm not going anywhere." Leafa spoke softly and soothingly as I looked into her emerald eyes and my tears seemed to stop. I smiled hopefully.
"Really?" I said wiping my eyes on the back on my navy sleeve.
"Really." She said with a smile. "You're my friend Silica, and I never leave a friend behind."
