Alyssa's pov
I can't believe this is happening. I don't even know what happening at this point....
"Alex, what happened earlier today? You didn't seem yourself," I said. "I haven't felt like normal..... Somethings felt weird about my body," Alex explained. "Here's the medics, they'll help you! I won't leave you!" I yelled. "Come quick, you gotta help her. I don't know what happened but she can't feel her legs and her whole body hurts!" I explained and started rambling. "She said she feels weird and that she doesn't feel like herself and I don't know what happened but you guys gotta save her!" "Ok miss. What's your name?" A medic asked. "I'm Alyssa and this is Alex," I said pointing to Alex. "Can we get a backboard?" The medic yelled.
The backboard came and the loaded her onto it. They then put the backboard on a stretcher and rolled her to the ambulance.
How do I tell Tobin what happened? It sounds like Alex was going to propose... What if she never gets to? I can't think like this! She's a fighter and is gonna make it!
"Ok Alyssa.... She is stable, but she may be permanently paralyzed," the medic says. "NO!!!!! What about soccer? She just won the World Cup! She's the greatest forward alive!" I say starting to cry. "I'm sorry, there still is a possibility she can get her feeling back in her legs though," the medic explains trying to calm me. "I just-i can't....... Alex, please hang! You'll make it I promise!! Tobin needs you!!" I say while crying.
Alex pov
We reach the hospital and they wheel me into my room. They start running what seems like a thousand tests and then I decided that I would tell them....
She had a condition since 5 that would slow or increase Alex's heart rate and make Alex very sick. It hasn't happened since she was 12, she didn't think anything of it.
"Alyssa, I think I know what's going on!" I say. "Doctors come! Alex, what do you think is causing this??" Alyssa asks. "When I was little I was diagnosed with this condition that would mess with my heart rate and make me super sick," I said. "That's terrible, why didn't you tell us?" Alyssa asks. "Well that's the thing. It hasn't happened since I was 12 that's why. I didn't know if it was the same thing, am I gonna be okay?" I ask. "Well we will look into your medical history and see what it is and hopefully go from there." The doctor says.
30 minutes later
"Well miss Morgan, you do in fact still have that condition and the good thing is is that we have medication that will help. The only thing that there isn't an explanation for is the blood," the doctor says. "I think I may have bashed my head on the ground while surfing and that's why I think I'm bleeding because I do know my head hurts" I say. "Well that explains the major concussion and your legs, can you wiggle your toes?" The doctor asks.
I try and wiggle my toes and I can sort of feel them and wiggle them.
"I can sort of feel them doc," I explain. "Well that is good news, it could have been from shock or something like that and it seems to be going away so we shouldn't have to worry about that, but we'll watch it just to make sure," the doctor says to me. I start crying in relief and I get myself worked up and get sick in a bucket by my bed because of my concussion. "You will be released tomorrow afternoon miss Morgan.
Alyssa's pov
"See Alex, I knew you're a fighter! You'll make it through this!...... Now when all this was happening, you said for me to tell Tobin you wished you would have the opportunity to marry her," I say. "Well yeah um..... Ok. We've been secretly dating and I was going to ask her to marry me after the game on Friday, I mean yeah." Alex tells me. "Oh wow, um..... Congratulations Alex! Well when we go back to the hotel tomorrow how about you do it then? Wait how about I have her come to the hospital to visit you and you do it now?" I ask. "But she doesn't know all this happened to me, what if she says no?" Alex asks me with a very concerned voice. "Listen Alex! Tobin loves you! We can all see it in your eyes when you guys look at each other!" I say. "Now let me call Tobin and tell her to come to the hospital and we'll explain that your gonna be okay and that its just a little condition that won't slow you down! Ok?" I say. "Yeah, I love Tobin and I know she won't say no! Call her! What are you waiting for?" Alex yells at me.
