My Alpha

Chapter Nine

Liam and I wait for Henry while everyone takes their seats.

Liam squeezes my hand, "Don't be nervous baby."

I give him a smile and a nod before taking a deep breath.

Finally a pack member introduces Alpha Henry and he joins us, in front.

Henry gives me a comforting smile, Liam still holding my hand.

"Thank you everyone, for coming today," Henry says smiling.

"We are here to welcome our new to come Luna of the Grey Stone Mountain Pack," he continues.

Everyone claps.

"Now Esme, do you promise to protect this pack at any cost?" he asks.

I nod, "Yes." Liam squeezes my hand.

"Good, do you promise to keep equality amongst the pack during your rule?" he asks.

I swallow hard, nervous, "I will, I  promise."

Henry gives me a soft smile then reaches for a small knife.

"Now I join blood with the future Alpha, Liam," he hands me the knife.

With shaky hands I cut my palm, it stings quickly, but I soon forget about it. I hand the knife to Liam and he does the same. Liam hands the knife to Henry and looks at me. Liam reaches for my hand, and I reach for his, our bloody palms join together for a moment before Henry speaks.

"Now, join blood with the current Alpha, me," he says before cutting his palm. He reaches and I give him my bloody hand, joining our blood. After a second, Henry lets my hand go and hands me and Liam a towel, and gets one himself.

"I Alpha Henry, hereby announce Esme Marie Owens as the future Luna of the Grey Stone Mountain Pack," Henry says smiling. Then everyone cheers and claps. I am handed a large band aid and put it on before I join hands with Liam and we walk to the main hall, leading the pack.

"You did amazing baby," Liam says wrapping his hand around my waist.

"Thanks Liam," I blush slightly.

"Now, we party," Liam winks.

The after party is very much like a wedding reception. Liam and I danced, them everyone dances, there is food and the vibe is great.

"I'm going to step outside for a minute," I kiss Liam's cheek.

"Are you okay?" he asks turning from his conversation with Hudson and some other guys.

"Yeah, I'm just getting hot. I'll be back in a few," I say giving him one more peck on the cheek before heading for the exit.

I find a bench about ten feet from the building and take a seat, breathing in the fresh air. My heart races as I hear the sound of a stick snapping in the woods to my right.

"W-who's there?" I yell, demanding. My thoughts start to lead me to think it's my attackers coming for me again. I stand up, bracing myself as one figure appears. My body relaxes as I see my brother appear.

"Jeremy, what do you want," I ask sitting down again, a little annoyed.

"It's good to see you too," he says.

"What are you doing here?" I snap, crossing my arms as he sits next to me.

"I'm here to congragulate you, seeing how dad and I didn't get invited. In all honesty, I am here to help you Esme," he says softly.
