Chapter 17

"Do it now Esme," Luca growls.

I take a step towards Liam, as he looks up at me with heavy eyes.

'Act as if I have controlled your mind. I have a plan,' I mind link to Liam.

He doesn't reply but sits up straight as if he is waiting for a command.

"Very well," Luca says, pleased.

I turn and look deeply into Luca's eyes and send the command 'release Liam and the other alpha's and lose your will to control them forever.'

Luca gets a confused look on his face and for a second, he acts differently, but then shakes his head, snapping out if it. Shit.

Luca's eyes fall on me and before it I am slapped across the face with so much force, I fall to the concrete floor.

"How dare you try and control my mind," he yells at me. I hear a low growl from Liam.

I hold my cheek, my body still sore as I lay on the ground. 

'Don't move Liam, keeping acting,' I mind link him.

'I can't just watch him hurt you Esme!' he shouts in my head.

'Please,' I beg. Liam doesn't answer, but doesn't move either.

"Take her to her cell," Luca yells to his men. Two men grab me and begin carrying me away. I take one last look at Liam who has a stone cold look on his face, staring straight ahead, before I am dragged away. I have to get him out of here.

***Liam's pov***

Watching Esme being slapped and carried away was so hard to do, but I know I can't blow it yet.

"Now Liam," Luca says approaching me. I continue to look straight ahead.

"I need you to give me control of your pack," he smirks.

No fucking way would I do that, not in a million years. Although he doesn't need to know that.

I give him one single nod.

"Good," he says with a creepy grin.

I stare straight ahead.

'Are you okay Esme?' I mind link her, Levi is going crazy as well as myself.

'I'm fine,' I hear her voice in my head, 'what happened?'

'Well since Luca thinks I am under his control, he told me to give up my control of our pack to him. I nodded to him. What's the plan' I ask her.

It's silent for a minute, 'I don't know.'

That changes everything.

***Esme's pov***

I hold my face as it stings from being slapped by one of Luca's men.

"I said take your clothes off," he snaps.

I shift on my knees and just as I go to take my shirt off I punch his knee backward with all my strength. He falls to the ground and I get on top of his torso, straddling him.

I use his belt that was laying next to him, he already removed it, and I hold it to his throat and he fights me. I hold down until he goes unconscious. I can't kill him, I don't have it in me. Instead I grab his keys and head out of the cell.

'Liam where are you?' I mind link him as I make my way down the creepy hall.

'I'm in a field just past his pack house,' he says. I make my way there, I know exactly were it's at, it's were the pack trains.

I'm cautious and try to avoid everyone I see, not wanting to get caught.  

'I'm on my way,'  I tell Liam.

'Esme be careful. What is the plan?' I hear his voice in my head. 

I really don't know. My best bet is trying to control his mind long enough for Liam to get out.

'Just follow my lead,' I tell him. I know they are close because I smell  Liam. I make a turn and see the field. I begin to run to it.

"Now Liam, repeat after me, I Liam Grey, handover my authority and Alpha role of the Grey Stone Pack to Luca-" I hear Luca snap at Liam, but I interrupt.

"Stop Luca, I won't let you," I yell out. Dozens of heads turn my way, including Liam and Luca.

"Esme, Esme, Esme, if you were smart you wouldn't have interrupted," Luca grins and then nods at a few of  his men who then grab my arms. I pull against them.

"Let me go," I growl at them.

Luca laughs," Stupid little girl."

"If I am so stupid then why do you need me to take over packs?" I snap at him.

Luca narrows his eyes at me before saying, "Do it."

Do what? Before I can even think about what is happening. I feel hands begin to take my shirt off.

"W-what are you doing?" I ask nervously, trying to pull away.

"Teaching you a lesson," I feel more hands beginning to remove my clothes.

"S-Stop!!" I yell, tears filling my eyes.

Within one second, I hear a familiar growl and all the hands are removed from me.

Liam holds me in his arms and I wrap my arms around him.

"What?" I hear Luca say.

"Shit," Liam, whispers. Luca now knows Liam wasn't under his control.

"Run," Liam whispers and the two of us take off into the woods. We hear footsteps behind us.

"What do we do?" I yell as we run.

"Hudson and the rest are almost to us. We will fight," Liam says.

My legs feel weak and I feel light headed as I run next to Liam. I haven't had much to eat or drink since I have been here. I soon hear the packs voices in my head, but that's the last thing I hear before I pass out and collapse.

I open my eyes to light peaking in through the curtains of Liam's and my room.

WAIT?! I'm home?! I sit up in the bed kind of panicked. I through the blankets off of me and run to the door. As I open the door I collide with a very firm chest.

"Esme what's wrong?" Liam says.

I wrap my arms around his torso and hold on tightly.

"What happened?" I asked him.

Liam wraps his arms around me and kisses my head, "Don't worry baby, it's taken care of."

I want to ask what happened, but a small part of me doesn't want know right now.

"I love you," I say into his chest.

"I love you too baby. I'm so happy you're safe," he kisses my head.

I look up and instantly connect my lips with his and wrap my arms around his neck. His arms snack around my waist and he pulls me closer to him, not breaking our kiss. 

I don't want to know all the details right now. I will, but right now I just want to enjoy being safe with Liam again.

So sorry it has been so long since publishing this story, it is almost over! So hard to believe I have almost finished this book!
