Hello! Sorry for the delayed update (you thought I had left you. Well I'm back HAHA)

Enjoy >_<

------------------

2 weeks passed since the failed mission outside of the walls and Hanji was totally recovered much to Levi's relief. He was getting tired of her always getting into trouble due to her constant wandering. She once ended up in the stables snuggled up to one of the mares. and she was covered in hay and (much to Levi's horror) DUNG/POOP!

-Levi let Erwin carry her inside just this once-

Hanji knew that Levi was moving her around between her room and his. Let's just say he wasn't too careful not to bump her into some walls and door frames during the movements. \(0_0)/
But she still of course loved him for taking care of her. Even though they hadn't really talked, they had certainly grown together in a more subtle way. And more. Hanji would often fake sleep and peep at Levi when he got changed although she only ever saw his upper half exposed...

It was around 9am on a Sunday and Hanji was looking forward to sleeping in on her day off when there was a knock at her door. She fumbled to find some trousers because she was just in a shirt and shorts but much to her dismay the person just unlatched the door and walked in. "Oh it's just you Levi" she sighed in relief. "Duh Shitty-Glasses. Get dressed we are going out" he said without looking away from her eyes. For once he is actually smiling. "Wha-" but before Hanji could speak, Levi had already shut the door and left.

Tapping his foot, Levi checked his watch. He was wearing a dark grey shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows, and black denim type trousers with smart-casual brown ankle boots. "Tch, where is she?" he said checking his watch. "Right here" Hanji said making Levi jump. She had snuck up behind him quietly because she thought it was funny hearing him talk to himself. Levi turned suddenly but relaxed when he saw that it was Hanji. However he internally wrestled with his emotions at the sight of her. She was wearing a pastel yellow knee length dress with cute red sandals. She had put on subtle eyeliner bringing out her large brown eyes, she was also wearing shiny pink lip gloss.

Unsure as to what to say to the beauty standing before him Levi blurted out "What's all that on your face". "Um. Makeup... You said that we were going out so..." Hanji replied with. "Oh. Right. Of course" and with that, Levi kind of awkwardly turned and started walking. Hanji followed easily catching up to him with her long strides.

"So, where are we going shorty?" Hanji teased with an exaggeration on the 'we'. "We are going for a ride and a picnic" Levi said.

"I'm looking forward to it"

"Good".

Very soon the pair were galloping away across the spring fields and *wait for it* Levi was smiling and laughing *dies*. It appeared that this expressionless man was actually revealing his emotions and for Hanji. It was GLORIOUS! She had never heard him laugh before and smiling too was rare. She rode up next to him grinning ear to ear, he turned to smile at her and she blushed madly but she didn't look away or try to hide it. Seeing her blush made him blush too. In an attempt to break the awkward moment Hanji shouted "race you to the tree Levi!" and with that she rode swiftly to a nearby tree.

-time skip to after finishing their picnic-

The evening had grown red with the setting sun. Hanji Zoe and Levi Ackerman were sitting propped up on either side of a large tree. With her back to Levi, Hanji asked him a question that had bugged her for a while "Levi. Why do you never show your emotion?" Levi's breath hitched at the question. "I don't want to talk about it" he replied but not in his usual blunt manner, this was soft and kind. "Is it Isabel? Because you loved her and didn't show it so now you don't show it to anyone" Hanji pondered. "Jeez Hanji" Levi said shifting round the tree to face her "you're so persistent. I'm not sure why. I just don't feel like being an open book all the time"

Sighing Hanji leaned back against the tree and closed her eyes. She felt Levi move closer all of a sudden and before she could speak she felt warm lips crash against hers. At first she tensed up but she soon melted into the kiss and put her arms around Levi's neck. They both moved closer to each other until it felt like they were one person interlocked in each others love. After a wonderful moment they broke their kiss.

Gazing into Levi's pale grey eyes Hanji smiled lovingly at him. They spent an unknown amount of time just sitting in beautiful silence propped up against their sheltering tree. Wrapped up in each others arms they felt completely safe from the world around them. Just as darkness fell Hanji broke the silence "we need to get back". "Mmm, okay" Levi replied quietly. He started packing up their picnic things, Hanji helped. They both went to pick up a spoon and their hands met, they both chuckled and joined together in another loving kiss.

Mounting their horses they rode side by side all the way home while never letting go of the other's hand.

Their love was new, but it sure was true.
