Nik's P.O.V

I had returned home after a long run with my Beta, only to find that my mate was missing. I ran all over the woods looking for her, the entire night, my wolf was going crazy with all the possibilities of what could have happened to her. It was now early morning and I had picked up her scent, I sniffed the air and heard a small thud in the distance, I ran quickly and heard the crunching of leaves and twigs.

I ran faster and saw she was running alone, and she was running away from me, my wolf saw red and tried to stop her ahead. She dodged it and I let out a growl, she is mine and she won't be going anywhere. I jumped and tackled her to the ground, a part of me immediately regretted doing it, but the rest couldn't care less.

I turned her over to assess the damage I had done, she stared at me and then hugged me closer. My anger vanished and I tried to calm my wolf from claiming her right there and then, "You are the cutest and biggest husky I have ever seen" she cooed and it felt like she had just thrown cold water in my face. I pulled away and then before I could stop myself growled at her, I took a deep breath the looked around to see if anyone had heard that.

I shifted while staying on top of her, "HUSKY!I AM A WOLF NOT A FUCKING HUSKY!" I yelled, she just stared at me like a deer caught in headlights. "you are one as well, so stop playing dumb with me and shift" I commanded, I waited and she just stared at me. "Are you deaf or something?" I asked, she blinked a few times then her gaze went down and assessed the rest of my body. My wolf immediately perked up and I had to fight him not to do anything with her.

"How did you do that?" she asked, I couldn't believe she was playing the dumb game with me. I could practically smell her wolf and she just pretends like she knows nothing about her own kind. "I am a werewolf and so are you, you are my mate, and trust me I would sense if you were human" he said softly trying to show her that I was over this little game.

I leaned down to her neck then slowly kissed it, she shuddered but did not move. My wolf was sick of waiting and I was sick of this game, I bit her neck at first only a light bite, but then she moaned and my wolf took over completely. I had no idea what was going on because my body turned hot and where it usually felt like fireworks and sparks it felt as though lightning was humming between us.

I had no control over myself and I knew it was futile to try and fight my wolf from completing his mating proses. I was surprised I hadn't marked her when I saw her in the street, and believe you, me it was the hardest thing I had to do until now, not claiming her. I felt as though my sanity was returning with every second my wolf was completing the proses. I now realise what my father meant about males not making it 24hours without marking their mates. Alphas were worse, they could barely go a few hours without marking their mates, I am surprised I held out this long.
