"DEATH! WHERE ARE YOU! WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO RILEY'S SOUL!" I shouted out over the rain and thunder. We were standing in the open. Going under the tree was smart, but we might be struck with lightning. I tried to pinch myself, and felt nothing, so we should be fine under the tree. I'm not sure of the lightning can do anything to us or not. I grab her arm and sprint over to it. Once under, the leaves were so thick that no rain at all was coming through. I put my wings back and she puts her hoodie down.

"What did you say back there. Death? Is he here? Is he doing this?" She sounded really scared.

"Ya, and he needs to leave fast because you only have half an hour before you die, and we can't get back while in here." I don't know why I said that because it only causes her to panic even more.

"I'M NOT GOING ANYWHERE BUD!" I hear him shout out. He slowly appears from his shadow puddle on top of the cottage. "SHE SAID SHE DOESN'T WANT TO GO BACK IN, SO NOW SHE CAN'T. TO BAD THAT WAS THE WAY OUT THOUGH!" I can hear him laughing maniacally. He wanted this to happen.

"But I do now!" Riley tries to scream out, but it's not that loud. She has too much fear in her voice to sound confident. After something like this, I can see why she wouldn't have wanted to be in her soul. Did this happen before? In her first life? Oh Death you are not in a good position right now if that's the case. Even though I may be just as strong as he is, maybe even stronger from the fight we had before, I just made a death threat to Death himself. This day is reaching new lows and highs every second.

"NOPE, TOO LATE!" He sinks down fast, appearing before us within seconds. "THIS IS MINE NOW! AND SO IS SHE!"

"YOU DON'T OWN HER! HER SOUL ISN'T YOURS!" I push her behind me, covering her and giver her protection. Death knows how strong my soul is, so he should know the ends I'm willing to go to to make sure I get what I want in this world.

He stops the rain, but it stays just as cloudy. It's really dark, but the full moon creates a good light. It shines through a perfectly sized break in the clouds obviously made by Death as well.

"You are REALLY getting on my nerves Alex! You die, make a deal, and lose. Escaping the fate that YOU CHOSE, I get you again. I allow you redemption, and you win. Yaaaay! NOW, you just pester me by breaking my world and taking away people from me left and right. Not this time! I'm going to show you that not everyone can be saved." He is extremely mad. I can tell he's had enough of me. Maybe I should leave after this.

"Well, Riley did the exact same thing, so why are you so bent on getting her?" He straightens out, ready to retort.

"Ya, she had the exact same circumstances as you, that's true. So why? Because she thinks she can cheat me out. How do you think she gets here? She does this to herself. She hates the real world so much that the verge of death is what she needs to give her a rush and keep on living. She wants to join her mom and dad, but is to scared to see what would happen. She's already accepted me, but that doesn't mean you're immortal. I don't think she knows that." He had this all planned out. One way or another he was going to trap her in here. I was just a catalyst for him. Yet because I'm here, she might be able to get out of this.

"What about her time? You saw it right? The way it moved so fast?" He freezes for a second, then begins to laugh like a maniac. She cowers behind me even more, but I'm unmoved.

"I DID THAT! The way it went from 3 hours to an hour and a half. Is that what you mean? Ya I did that. I'm tired of her always popping in and out, almost like she's mocking me. She didn't even free herself! She had others do it for her, then just left right away." I feel Riley clutch onto my shirt on my back. I take one of my hands and put it on her head to comfort her. I can tell she's weak just from her soul size. But she's avoided confrontation almost her whole life. People have always left her. She needs me here more than she's needed anyone before.
