After walking around for around 2 hours, the world is exactly the same as the real world. just no people. I even went to my own home, and looked around. No items were inside anything, and I'm not even sure why. I went to a few of my friends house to check the same and neither did they. I went back to the downtown area and went to my soul. I looked at it, it was different. The colors were white, gold, and light blue with the few subtle hints of purple and green. I don't know when it changed, but it looked really nice and calm looking. After getting a good look of it, I decide it's time to leave. My time read 16:25:37. I don't know if that equates to anything in the real world, but I have to get back. Rose must be waiting for me, or maybe she's in the hospital. I was in the middle of nowhere, so It's going to be difficult for someone to find me or to even get back. After leaving the subway and letting my eyes adjust to the outside, I spread my wings and slowly begin to lift my way up. Just as I reach the height of a small skyscraper, a giant thunderbolt crashes into the ground. Thunder rings through my ears and I stop my ascension instantly. I'm not entirely sure of what it was, but based on that same thing happened when Matt first appeared, it's more than likely another person. Fixing myself, I fly over to the contact area. I assume this is where they are located. Maybe I can make this look cool, like fly really high and just crash next to them landing on one knee, like in the movies. No need to not have fun with this. As I fly over a house, I see them in the road, laying down. They must have been hit by a car. If I can get them out they should be able to get an ambulance fast.
I hover a few hundred yards above them, out of their sight. I see them getting up, looking around and calling out for their mom and dad. Their voice is high, so it must be a child. I bring in my wings, and fall fast. Ready for the landing, I crash down a few feet infront of them, landing on one knee and one arm in a fist on the ground. Just before I touch down, I bring out my wings. They didn't cushion the fall or slow it down, but just made it look a lot cooler. A few feathers that had fallen out fall down in front of me, and when they opened, they also flew some feathers off to the side. They stared at me, like this is the coolest thing they've ever seen in their what was life.
"Woooooah, that was so COOOOL!" They say. I lift up my head and take a good look at their face. It's a young boy, who looks less that 8 years old. They had tears on their face, so I came at a good time so they would stop. "Who ARE you?!" They seem better.
"Hi. My name is Alex, and I'm here to get you out." I stand up, and I tower over this child, almost twice their height. They look up, keeping their eyes on me. "So, can you tell me what happened before you came here?"
"Ya. I was playing soccer with my mommy and daddy, but the ball went out to the street. I went to go get it, but when I grabbed the ball I heard a noise and then all I could see was black. When I woke up no one was around, except you." Well, that's all I need to know that they did get hit by a car. Yet, now a new thought comes to my head. How in the world can I make a child be OK with death. Jeez, this is going to be more difficult than I had first thought.
"So, can I ask you something. Do you know what being dead is?" I slink back, waiting to see what he says. I hope he doesn't freak out. What if he does know what that means? How will I convince him to think differently? I look at my wrist to see my time, but freak when I see something different. I see another time on my wrist right under mine with a name next to it. Jack, with 1 hour and 18 minutes left. I look back at him, and I can tell he's thinking hard on this.
"No, I've heard that word before, but my mommy and daddy never explained it to me, they just said that my grandpa was at peace, so it sounds OK. What does it mean?" He looks up at me with a pure smile. If I want to get him out, I'm going to have to sugarcoat what death is so he can be OK with it. He already thinks is a peaceful thing, so maybe I can base it off that.
