CHAPTER 1: WHEN HUMANITY THOUGHT WE WERE SAFE.

HER EMERALD EYES CHAPTER 1 (ANDREA POV): WHEN HUMANITY THOUGHT WE WERE SAFE.

(YEAR 845)

After a short day of learning how to use the 3DMG with Uncle Keith was gone. I went on the boats to go back to my district. As I was watching my reflection in the water, the boat was about to go into the tunnel. ‘I can’t believe that Uncle Keith said I was better than almost everyone that was going under training as trainees.’ I thought before I realized that I was in my district. As I got off, the bells for the Scouting Legion coming back ranged. I felt that Eren and Mikasa were down there as I began to walk to where the gate was.

I stood still as I saw all the soldiers covered in blood, bandages and a look of disaster. I looked over to the other side and saw Eren and Mikasa. A small smile, form onto my face before walking to the other side to see them. Once I got there I saw Eren being thrown into the wall by Mikasa.

“Now do you still want to join the Scouting Legion like aneki? Did you at least have a second thought to it?” Mikasa yelled at Eren as he got up slowly. His head was down as he then spoke up.

“Just help me pick up the sticks…” He whispered as they both picked the sticks from the floor. I sighed watching my brother and foster sister.

“Need help?” I asked out of the blue and walking out of my hiding spot. Both of them looked surprised at my sudden presence. They both nodded before I went to help them.

“So, Eren you want to join the Scouting Legion?” I asked while walking in front of them. I looked over my shoulder to see Eren with a determined like eyes staring back at me.

“Of course I do! Just like aneki!” He shouted with both of his fist in front of him. I smiled and nodded.

“I’ll join when you are at the right age, Eren.” I smiled and he looked really happy. He smiled at me and went back to talking to Mikasa. I sighed once again as I kept walking and looking around the area. We were walking up the hill as I tried to see what’s over the outside wall. ‘Even though training with Keith is helping me, I’m not going to join until Eren is at least 12 or 13. And plus I’m like 14 years old.’ I thought before turning away from the wall and saw my house. ‘I hope mum isn’t going to get mad for not wearing my dress. I just can’t be bothered changing. I like wearing my jumper, jeans and boots.’ I thought as I looked down and opened the door. My mum greeted us as Eren and Mikasa went to sit down on the table. I went up to mum to get water and sat down in the chair next to dad. He looked up to acknowledge my presence. I nodded at my dad and looked over to Eren before looking back at him. Dad understood on what I was applying to him before going to pack his stuff. My eyes turning to a dark shade of emerald as things are going to turn bad soon. ‘Shit, I feel sick. Something bad is going to happen. Like really bad.’ I thought as I was playing the ends of my long dark brown hair while drinking my water.

“Eren wants to join the Scouting Legion like aneki.” I choked on my drink and started coughing while glaring at Mikasa. Eren widens his eyes before yelling at Mikasa for telling them. My mum grabbed a hold of Eren’s shoulder before yelling at him.

“WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?! OUT OF ALL THE PEOPLE WHO GOES OUTSIDE THESE WALLS, DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW MANY DIED?!” Mum shouted as sweat drops were falling down her forehead. I watched the scene as I was prepared to say something back.

“YES, I DO!!!” Eren shouted back before he could say something else, I sighed before saying something.

“Mum, most of them were prepared to do anything for humanity even if it cost them their lives. At least they didn’t die in vain. I rather leave the walls and help humanity. It’s better than acting like a livestock here.” I said looking at them with my now cold emerald eyes before looking away. Mum gasped in shock to what I said. I looked at my dad and nodded at him. He nodded back and turned to look at Eren.
