Chicago
At the abandoned store
6.32 pm
"So," I smiled. "This is it."
"Oh, well, I thought we'd go somewhere more... hardcore?" Mai said.
"Same here." Chloe agreed with Mai.
"Guys, it may be harder to get in than you think." I winked and climbed the fence. "You guys comin'?"
As Chloe and Mai climbed the fence I looked at the store's window and tried to spot something.
"Guys," I stopped. "I think someone's inside."
"What?" Mai asked. "Maybe we shouldn't go there?"
"Oh boy, this getting better already." Chloe laughed to herself and we started to walk towards the entrance.
"Kylie, this is bad..." Mai started. "I see two men in there."
"Looks like we're about to make some friends." I smiled to myself. "C'mon."
"Where?" Chloe asked.
"Well, we're obviously not going through the entrance." I replied. "Stay there, behind the bushes while I find a way to get there."
As I walked around the store I saw an open window. I tried to peek through it, but I saw nothing but darkness.
"Well, let's try this, shall we?" I whispered and took a trash can to make it as my "push-up". "Shit, it's dark in here!" I whisper-shouted when i got inside. "Okay, I can feel the doorknob, I just need to open the door..."
*bang* *bang*
"What the hell was that?!" I whispered. "Shit, I need to get the fuck out of here!"
As i tried to climb up to the window i accidentally tripped over a trash can that was in there and it made a lot noice.
"Oh no," I panicked. "Shit, shit, shit."
I tried to reach the window but i needed something that would push me up, because it was way too far for me.
"Who's in there?" I heard a deep voice.
"Okay, Kylie, if you try to escape you die, if you stay - you die." I thought. "Fuck it."
The door opened and the light reached this room.
"What are you doing here?" The man asked. "Who are you?"
"Oh I am definitely not a cop." I tried not to act suspicious.
"Oh well, why didn't you say so, come and join us!" The man said. "Those two girls joined us before you, so it's officially a party."
"A party?" I asked, confused. "Didn't you guys shoot something? I swear I heard something!"
"Yeah, no." The man laughed. "It was the door. Turns out it was opened."
"Kylie!" Chloe approached me laughing. "You won't believe what happened!"
"What the fuck happened?" I was still super confused.
"Turns out these two guys," She pointed at the guy behind her. "Are just like you! They came here wanting to do something cool, turns out it's lame in here. Well except the free expired food."
"Maybe let me choose an abandoned place next time, Kylie!" Mai laughed.
At the nearest club from our hotel
11 pm
"Okay so basically," Chloe started. "Turns out, almost everyone from our orchestra is here."
"So I'm not getting laid tonight." I shook my head. "Pity."
"Oh, don't worry." Mai giggled. "I'm sure you'll find someone!"
I looked around and I did saw most of the people from Chloe's and Mai's orchestra. I tried to look for Chris, but I didn't see him anywhere.
"Hey," Someone touched my shoulder. "Long time no see."
"Jake?" I turned around as I heard a familiar voice. "Oh, hi."
"What are you doing here, though? I thought that your orchestra didn't get to the semi-finals and the finals?"
"Oh, I joined Savannah's orchestra." I giggled. "How are you? We didn't talk for ages!"
"I'm kind of drunk." Jake giggled.
"Already?" I laughed.
"Kylie, we are having the best time of our lives!" Chloe and Mai shouted.
"Oh God, they've been alone for just five minutes. I should get back to my friends, but I'll talk to you later, okay?" I gave him a warm smile.
"Yeah... Of course." He smiled back and left.
2.49 am
"Okay, guys, I think we should go now," I sighed. "We have practise tomorrow."
"Ten more minutes!" Chloe hiccuped.
"You said that three times now." I shook my head. "I'm going home. Call me if you guys need me."
"Kylie, wait," Someone took me by the hand when i stepped outside.
"Chloe, I'm not staying here for another ten minutes." I replied being half asleep.
"It's Chris."
"Chris?!" My eyes became wide open. "What the hell? Don't touch me."
"Kylie," Chris looked away. "I don't want to be another cliche guy who says a long speech that he's sorry and everything goes back to normal. I know you don't want that too, but hear me out, alright?"
"You have two minutes."
"Okay," Chris sighed. "I don't know what happened to me that day, I really don't. I just didn't want to mess with you, so i decided to leave and give you what you wanted. I didn't text you after that, because I was afraid. I didn't want to be rejected again. I hate feeling rejected. I know this isn't a valid reason on why I didn't call you after that, but I'm sorry."
"Apology not accepted." I yawned. "Now I don't know about you, but I'm going to bed."
"Kylie, just..." Chris rubbed his eyes. "What do I need to do, for you to forgive me?"
"I hate when people say that they're sorry. It's fake. It's always fake." I looked him in the eyes.
"Okay, Kylie, remember when you said that you're not acting "hard to get", it's just who you are?" Chris asked. "I'm not pretending to be afraid, it's just that I hate being rejected."
"Well, you're about to get rejected one more time."
"Just... It's not fair. You're not even giving me a chance."
"For what? So that you could bail on me again?"
"Kylie, you asked me to leave you alone. I didn't disappear. I did what you wanted."
"Maybe Chris is right?" I thought. "I did tell him to leave me..."
"How do I know, you won't do that again?" I gave him a mischievous smile.
"Well, the only way is to forgive me." Chris replied, smiling.
"Then," I cleared my throat. "Chris Smith, will you accompany me to my hotel room?"
"Gladly."
