~Erro's POV~
I shook myself awake, looking towards the font. Khadgar stood in it, green surrounding him. His eyes, a bright green glow. They must've looked how mine did when I sucked the fel from the tree. I lurched forward, but Lothar grabbed me. "Khadgar!"
No response.
"KHADGAR!" Then there was a blue bubble around us. "You're stronger than he is ." I pounded against the wall, crying and screaming. He looked over at me, and my voice broke. "Khadgar, please, I love you." He turned away, back to Medivh, "From light comes darkness, and from darkness, light." Then, light exploded, sending waves out in all directions. The bubble was down and Khadgar was still in the font, which was now empty. I got up, stumbling towards him. "Show us your eyes..." Lothar said, unsure of what had happened. He looked up at us with normal brown eyes. I wrapped my arms around him, holding him close and crying into his chest. We both caught our breath, and then there was a griffin. "I have to go." Lothar paused before he turned away, looking at both of us, "I'm proud of you guys." Khadgar and I forced a laugh. Then, Lothar was gone. "Please, don't ever scare me like that again," I begged. Khadgar placed his hand over mine, which was against his cheek. "I promise. The same goes for you."
"I promise."
"What are these?" he asked, tapping his fingers against something out of my vision. "What do you mean?"
"Horns..."
"What?"
"You have horns now."
"Oh, well, that's just great."
"I don't mind them." I gave him a small smile before kissing him softly. Medivh crackled to life next to us, eyes an Alliance blue. "Shala mah, Stormwind."
"Khadgar, he's keeping the portal open to Stormwind. We have to help him."
"I don't think I can, Erro." I struggled to pull myself over to him. I placed my hand on his shoulder, repeating the same words as him. I felt my eyes light up with the same blue as his as he crackled away. I kept going. "The loneliness, it makes us weak. Khadgar, Erro, I'm sorry. I wanted to save us all. I always did." His eyes move to mine, "Erro, I was wrong. You are no monster." My concentration breaks as I look into Medivh's eyes. "You are nothing but a being of compassion for everyone but yourself. I am sorry." I feel a hand over the one that is on his shoulder, and I look to see his hand. Tears burn my eyes as I sniffle. The hand falls away, and Medivh is still. "No," I choke. "No, Medivh," I sob. Khadgar pulls me to him as we both cry silently.
I don't remember when, but I fall asleep like that, exhausted, weary, and depressed. Too much had been lost on this day, and I need rest.
When I wake up, Khadgar is already up. "Good morning." We are in his room at the inn, "What is happening?"
"Today, we are going to the coronation. King Llane died at the gate. Lothar will be king, and I believe he has something to ask you as well." My eyes go wide, "Really?" Khadgar nods with a giddy smile, "Yes! Now, c'mon. We must eat and be on our way."
"Breakfast? Let's hope you did not burn it."
"I tried." We eat, and then we start to pack up Khadgar's things from the room at the inn. Lothar walks into the room after a while, setting Garona's dagger on the table. Khadgar lifts it, looking it over, "Garona's dagger."
"I pulled that from Llane's neck."
"Well, there has to be an explanation."
"Yes, she made her choice."
"I don't believe that," Khadgar insists. I nodded from beside him, "There has to be an effect of this that affects something in the future. I know it. She did not blindedly kill King Llane. I am sure," I insist. "Maybe we didn't know her quite as well as we thought we did."
"No, I know there is something more."
"Anyway, that is not the only thing I've come to ask of you." He stands up and lays a hand on my shoulder, like a mentor, despite the fact I am quite taller than him. "Erro, would you take my place and be the commander while I am king?" I feel my eyes go wide, "Are you sure you desire me as a commander?" He laughs, "I am positive." Khadgar is smiling that same giddy smile. "You knew about this?" I question, shoving him playfully. "Perhaps."
"So, yes?"
"Of course, Lothar. It would be my honor."
So, Lothar took me down to the armory, where I received new, clean, strong robes and an Alliance cloak. I, of course, kept my old one. I stand off to the side next to Khadgar while Lothar is crowned king, "There is no greater blessing a city can have than a king who would sacrifice himself for his people, but such a sacrifice must be earned. We must deserve it. If we only show our unity to mourn a good man's death, was King Llane wrong to believe in you?" The crowd screams out cheers of, "No!" Khadgar grabs my hand and grabs the sword from the base of where King Llane is lying. We walk over, holding it out to Lothar. Lothar grabs it, and I stand with Khadgar while Lothar walks over next to his sister. He holds up the sword, letting out a yell, "For Azeroth! For Azeroth and the Alliance!"
