I struggled to catch my breath as I ran. My legs filling with outrageous pain. I must have been running for miles, none stop. Did I lose them? Are they right behind me? I didn't dare to look. So I continued to run, but not for long.
I couldn't hear their footsteps chasing me anymore. So I stopped and hid in the doorway of a store. I looked back. Nothing. Just the darkness and emptiness of city streets at night. I slid my back down the wall, and inhaled the sweet sent of perfume and new warm clothes. I turned to see a window of a closed store. And there they were. Bottles of perfume on shelves, dresses on manikins. I got up and peered through the window. Everything was placed carefully on the shelves. Outfits wrapped around statues tightly. Skinny jeans folded perfectly on tables.
The moment was interrupted by a car with a bunch of teenage guys making a huge racket. I could hear they're car coming from twelve blocks away. I hid again. The car came by finally, there were four guys. Laughing, screaming, and yelling. There was one guy that captured my attention. He had short brown hair with dark blue eyes. His delicate looking skin shined from the lights of the car. I'm surprised that he didn't see me, I was two feet away from their car when they drove past me. I guess I blended in with the darkness and gossip that this town holds.
I've only been here a day and I already know everything about this town. I can't wait to what this town's high school is like. I guess I'll figure out tomorrow.
