He finds himself in a random Universe... Underfell? Strange. Ink just shrugs, he walks forward a little before the words "SANS!" Could be heard. Shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit was Ink's only thought. Ink turns around and sees Underfell Papyrus standing over him, "Oh, hi..." He says, stuffing the soul in a satule he had. "What the hell are you wearing? And when the fuck did you get so short?" Papyrus asks, angrily tapping his foot. "What?" Ink asks. "Boss who are yo-" Underfell Sans's voice comes over, but stops when the being sees Ink. Ink turns around, "Oh, hey Edge!" He says happily. "Hi Ink, what are you doing here?" Edge asks, walking over.
"Saving the multiverse." Ink replies. Edge nods, "Well, nice to see you met my boss." Edge says sarcastically, beckoning a hand to Papyrus, who looks pissed. Edge leans over and whispers, "he's cranky because i didn't read his bedtime story the other night." He snorts. Ink snickers. "Well, I have met your boss before. Kinda created him remember?" Ink asks. "I know, I was being sarcastic." Edge rolls his eyes, "I thought you would know that I'm sarcastic Ink." He adds. "Well it's been a rough day okay? My brother and his boyfriend are being possessed by evil parasites I made 5,000 years ago and I had to steal their child so he wasn't possessed by the antichrist." Ink says grumpily. Edge stares at Ink, "Wanna head back to my place and get some rest?" He asks. "SANS-" Papyrus starts, but Edge cuts him off, "Shut the fuck up Paps, seriously." He says, then gets slapped. He shrugs this off and heads back home, Papyrus yelling at him.
Ink wonders why he made Edge's brother such an asshole. He sighs then proceeds to follow them. Once he's at least caught up to Papyrus he looks at him as if he were a disappointed parent. "I still have no idea why I made you so... Cruel." He says. Papyrus stops shouting and stares at Ink, "What the hell are you talking about?" He growls. "My name is Ink, I'm... Basically your God. Here, I'll prove it." Ink grabs a vial of green paint, he paints some of it on Papyrus's skull, healing the crack in it. "There ya go!" Ink says happily. Papyrus smacks Ink's hand away and touches where the crack used to be, then glares at Ink and walks faster. Edge slows, walking next to Ink, "He's going to trust you even less because you did that." He says. "I know, I also know how Underfell works, I don't need him to trust me, I need him to fear me." Ink says with a sigh. "Trust is better than fear, if people fear you, then they'll turn against you." Edge says, now twirling a bone in his hand, "I've read the actual human history, and even talked about it with Overtale, I know that the allies you get through fear, aren't you allies at all, they just follow you because they're scared you'll kill 'em." Edge continues.
Ink nods, he knew all of this. He really did. Yet... Right now it was better if people feared him, for he was probably more dangerous than anyone right now, carrying this soul around. He could feel it, this child's soul was determination, not only that, it had great power. It came from one of the original gods, and had the most powerful type of soul. No wonder why End wanted it. Edge looks at him, "So, wanna play some ketchup?" As he says this, he snaps and a bottle of ketchup appears in his hand. Ink sighs, "I... I think I lost my entire family... How about you?" He asks. "Wow, that's rough... Well, things here have gotten better actually, some monsters have started to use mercy with each other, so, that's a good thing." Edge says, the ketchup turning into mustard as he drinks some of it.
"... I'm carrying around the most powerful being in the multi-verse.... In my pocket." Ink says before laughing a little. His laughter sounded forced and sad. "I had to take this away from someone who really loved them... But... I knew if I kept them there, everything would be gone..." Ink says. "What could I have done?! What should have I done?!?" Ink asks, regretting his decision. Edge puts a hand on Ink's shoulder, "Hey, buddy, calm down, I'm sure you did what you had to do, and I'm sure whomever you had to take the... whatever it is from, knows that too. So calm down, you're just doing what you have to do." He says as they arrive at his house. The place looks dusty and slightly worn, but still able to support life. Papyrus is standing right outside, looking pissed... not surprising to say the least.
"Edge... Do you think... I could explain everything to you... Somewhere private? I really need someone to talk about this with." Ink says quietly. Edge nods, "Let me unlock the door to the house first, I know just the place to chat." Edge says, and does what he says. Papyrus glares at Edge, then walks inside. Edge goes around to the back of the house, "Over here, almost no one knows about this place." Edge says, smiling a bit. He opens the door to reveal some stairs. Ink walks down them, Edge following him, locking the door behind him. Ink takes out the small red soul, holding it in his hand. He then sits down on the ground, staring at it intently. "Whoa, a soul?! Wait... no way..." Edge stares at Ink, "Now I understand why you're so worried about this." He says, walking over to a wall and turning on a light to show his work place.
Ink doesn't even look up as Edge sits down next to him. "This is my brother's child. It is the most powerful soul in the multiverse." Ink says quietly, not once taking his eyes off it. Edge stares at the soul, "Wow... it must've been hard for you to take it then..." He says. "My brother's and his boyfriend are slowly dying, being taken over by these... These parasites that I made. And if they get this soul? Every single universe will cease to exist." Ink says cradling the soul in his hands. Edge puts a hand on Ink's shoulder, "If it helps any, I'm rooting for you, hell, I'll do my best to help you if there's anything I can do." He says.
"Edge... They're doing this because of me, I made them so... So carelessly! They want nothing more than to make me feel pain. And the worst part is? When I took this from Berry... He loved this child so much, that he was able to control his body partially, begging me not to take it." Ink says. Edge looks at Ink to the soul, slightly shocked, he sighs after a second or two, "Ink, look at me." He says. "I don't want to." He says, only staring down at his... His niece/nephew. He smiled slightly, he was an Uncle. "well, i half expected that..." He mutters and shakes his head, "Anyway, I'm saying this as a friend, do what you feel is right, save those you can, and don't make them feel pain." He says.
Ink nods, still looking down at the soul. I'm going to protect you, I promise. Ink thinks to himself. All of a sudden, the soul starts to glow faintly. It wraps Ink in its glow, he's filled with... Determination. "I'm going to save my family." Ink says, placing the soul in his satule once more. He stands up, and walks forward, appearing once more in Inktale.END OF CHAPTER EIGHT
