I woke up to the sun coming in through the cracks of the cabin, I slowly sat up and looked around and saw my sisters still asleep. I quietly picked up my bag and grabbed my phone and checked the time, it read 6:05, god why am I up so early?
I slipped out of bed and grabbed sweats and a sweatshirt from my bag and put them on and then out my hair in a messy ponytail. I heard a small knock on the door and I quietly got up and answered and I saw Ryder standing there with a smile on his face.
"Mornin Lauren" he said quietly and I quickly returned the morning gesture.
"Why are you here so early?" I asked him because honestly it's not even 7 and he's at my cabin like who does that?
"Usually Athena's kids wake up early, so I took the chance and your up" he said and I let out a little laugh.
"Or it's just that your a stalker, but why did you come anyways?" I asked him and he looked at me like I was stupid or something.
"Well we have to get your weapon picked out" he said, oh yeah I'm getting my weapon today, cool!
"Don't we have to wait for the others though?" I asked him because I thought we were supposed to go together.
"Nah, it will be fine, besides I told Ben that I was probably gonna come and get you" he told me and I nodded and followed him out.
We were walking towards the blacksmith together but I've honestly never got a good look at Ryder, he has dirty blonde hair, beautiful blue eyes and a smile to die for, okay maybe not as good as Blake's but a close second.
"Ryder, are we uhm, ever gonna see my parents again, well my adoptive ones at that?" I asked him and he shrugged.
"Maybe, I've seen mine before and so have the others except for Ace, but you guys might be able to, it all depends." He told me, wait why didn't Ace see his parents?
"Why didn't Ace see his parents?" I asked him and I heard him sigh.
"Ace's parents were killed in front of Ace when he was being brought to camp, they were attacked by 4 Minotaurs, Ace was able to get through the barrier but his parents couldn't, so that's why Ace is always so cold, he wants to be the best so he can always defend us." Ryder said sadly, oh god, I never even thought of that. Poor Ace, I couldn't ever imagine losing my parents even though they aren't my real parents.
"But anyways, here we are, now since your Athena's kid I'm gonna have a hunch of you needing a sword and a shield." Ryder said changing the subject and I nodded and I looked around and saw weapons everywhere!
I was skimming around until my eyes landed on a beautiful long sword, it had a golden handle with blue in it and it was the perfect size. I walked over and picked it up and it felt great, I looked to my right and saw a shield that was golden around and black in the middle and a golden sun design. I picked that up and put it in my other hand and to my surprise they both weren't even heavy.
"Ah classics, suits you well, an amazing craft. Do you like them?" Ryder asked me and I nodded.
"Great! Here put this on, it's to hold your sword" he told me while handing me a sword holder. (don't remember what there called xD)
I started to put it on but I couldn't figure it out, God dammit Lauren, your supposed to be smart!
"Here lemme help" Ryder said and he started to wrap it around my waist, holy crap he's basically holding my waist! Keep it together Lauren, relax, deep breathes.
"There you go, now slip your sword through there and your good to go!" Ryder said in a cheerful voice.
I saw a mirror and I looked pretty awesome, I'm not gonna lie.
"Let's head back now, it's 8:30 and you sisters are probably up and worrying" he told me and I nodded and we walked back to my cabin.
I opened the door and saw each of my sisters pacing around the room but once they saw me they ran over until they saw me all geared up.
"Lauren what the heck is that stuff? You chose your weapons already?" Lisa asked me and I nodded.
Soon enough the other boys came and took the others to go pick there weapons. With them gone basically meant me and Ryder alone.
"So, what do we do?" I asked Ryder and he shrugged.
"Oh great, I do not want to sit in a cabin for hours" I told him and he laughed.
"Fine, follow me then" he said and then took off running, what the heck?!
I started running after him and he ran right into the woods and up a little hill. Jeez he's like a track star! I finally was catching up to him and once we reached the top, I tripped which caused me to bump into Ryder and we both went tumbling down the hill and Ryder landed on top of me, our heads inches apart from one another.
I was caught in a trance, looking into his ocean blue eyes and he was leaning in until he rolled off of me and got up.
"Uh, sorry, here" he said while giving me his hand which I took.
He helped me up and I looked to my left and saw the ocean, holy crap it's beautiful!
"Oh shit, your leg is bleeding" Ryder said taking me away from my thoughts and I looked down and saw a big gash on my leg, well shit.
"Let's get back to your cabin" he told me and I nodded, I didn't feel much pain but it was starting to hurt and I think Ryder noticed because not even 2 seconds later he picked me up bridal style and started walking.
"Ryder put me down I can walk!" I told him but he shook his head.
"You aren't gonna put pressure on it alright" he said and at this point I'm not gonna argue, about 10 minutes later we got back to the cabin and he got out some bandages from his pocket and started wrapping my leg.
"It will be fine, it might scar but probably not" he told me and I nodded.
I then heard the door open and I saw my sisters come in with weapons in there hands.
Christina had a weirdly shaped sword and a smaller knife in a knife holder.
Kath had a bow and a quiver on her back.
Lisa had a broadsword and it looked really sick!
Amy had a crossbow and a dagger on her side.
Dani had 2 katanas, okay I am so not getting in her way.
Amy looked down at my leg and saw the bandage and her eyes widened.
"LAUREN WHAT HAPPENED!?" She screeched and soon all my sisters realized and were by my side within seconds.
"Guys I fell, Ryder patched me up, I'm okay" I told them and they seemed to settle down and nodded.
God I'm happy they all care that much though, some families don't have the chemistry like us and it's sad. But I wouldn't trade my sisters in for the world.
