"What do you mean 'trapped'?" Ella asked timidly stepping closer to Steve who was still in front of the door.

Steve looked at her for a brief second before replying, "There are Lumia agents all over the corridor, all armed. I think they are planning on waiting us out."

"But we can't stay here forever."

"I know." Steve replied before going quiet, Ella assumed he was thinking of a way out of this mess.

"There is no other way out." Ella said unhelpfully as she scanned the room they were in again incase they missed anything.

"Okay you stay here; I will deal with them then come and get you." Steve finally spoke.

"No." Ella cut in straight away; she knew where he was going with this plan. Ella walked over to him grabbing his hand, "We do this together or not at all. We're a team."

"Ella, it's dangerous." Steve protested

"I know that, but I have been training with Natasha for months now. I can do this, besides you've got my back right?"

"Always."

"So that settles it then, I know you want to protect me Steve but you have to understand that works both ways. I want to protect you too. We are together on this, okay?" Ella said causing Steve to smile. Never before had he met such a passionate, determined young woman. Steve placed a soft kiss to her forehead before securing his shield on his arm and grabbing the gun he took off the agent earlier.

Ella threw open the door letting Steve out first before quickly following suit. She was slightly nervous about the idea of fighting against someone who actually wanted to kill her but the adrenaline coursing through her veins made all that nervousness disappear. The first guy advanced on her quickly but Ella managed to dodge his attack, he pulled out his gun aiming for her causing Ella to dive behind to wall. As soon as the shooting stopped she started her attack. Punching the guy in the face then stomach in rapid succession. Ella didn't even have time to catch her breath before the next agent targeted her. She was so busy fighting her way through the corridor she had lost sight of Steve not that he was easy to lose; he stood out in his Captain America uniform compared with the black of the Lumia agents. He moved with practised ease, by the time Ella had dealt with one agent Steve was already on his sixth one.

Steve looked back to where Ella was, she was small and fast dodging attacks and landing her own before the other guy could even comprehend what happened. She was too preoccupied with her fight she didn't notice another agent training his gun on her.

Steve moved quickly, knocking down any agent in his way before he reached her. Steve grabbed her round the waist, spinning her into his chest before raising his shield up to deflect the bullets. They bounced off the shield harmlessly and onto the floor.

"Thanks." Ella replied looking up into Steve's handsome face.

"Marry me?" Steve blurted out as more bullets rained down on them

"What?" Ella asked stunned, not sure if she heard him right.

"Marry me?"

"I think we need to work on your timing Cap." Ella laughed planning to brush it off as a joke.

"Ella, I'm serious."

"I don't think now is the best time to talk about this." Ella replied trying to back away from him before realising she was still in Steve's arms with his shield in front of them.

A Lumia agent grabbed hold of Steve from behind causing him to release Ella so he could face his opponent. Steve landed a sharp blow to the guys jaw before continuing.
