"Can't you put the self destruct on a delay?" Tony asked Ella

"No,  someone has to be here to activate it. I can wait until all the others  are safely out but there is no way anyone can make it from here to the  outside of the building in 2 minutes." Ella replied slumping down in her  seat.

"We need to warn the others of the self destruct, make sure  they are all outside at the start of the countdown. We will figure this  out, El." Tony replied

"Avengers?" Ella called into her earpiece doing as Tony instructed.

"Ella?" It was Natasha's voice but she could hear all the other avengers in the background so Ella knew everyone could hear her.

"Okay we can lift the lockdown but it will trigger a self destruct countdown so you all need to get out of the building, now!"

"What about you and Tony?" Clint asked

"Don't  worry about us, we have it covered." Ella replied looking over to Tony  hoping he knew what he was doing. She really didn't want to die here;  she didn't exactly want to die full stop but especially not today.

"Ella?"  It was Steve's voice and Ella did everything she could to stop herself  from crying out to him. Ella wasn't an avenger and she knew she would  never get use to this, the field missions, the life-threatening  situations. She came here for Steve and Tony and she didn't regret it  but deep down she knew she would never be able to do this as a career.

"Trust  me, Cap. We got this covered." She replied into the earpiece hoping he  didn't notice how her voice cracked slightly. A single tear rolled down  her cheek but she scrubbed it away. She may not be a field agent or a  SHIELD operative or even an Avenger but she was Ella Stark and Ella  Stark did not cry over things like this. She was strong and between her  and Tony they would figure out how to get out safely.

"We need a  plan." Tony spoke up once they finished communicating with the rest of  the team. Ella mutely nodded. "Ella, we are going to be okay, I didn't  invite you to stay with me just to get you killed. We are going to get  out of here and I won't even complain if you and Capiscle kiss in front  of me anymore."

Ella laughed at his last statement, "I'll hold you to that."

"Jarvis, tell me we missed something." Tony called out

"Negative sir, Miss Stark is correct it would be impossible for you to reach safety within the 2 minute window." The AI replied.

"Well that was helpful, thank you for that. I can see why I asked you." Tony replied sarcastically

"Might I make an observation, sir?"

"Sure why not?" Tony sighed

"You are wearing you're suit."

"What's that got to do with anything....Oh!" Tony called out; Ella looked up at him confused.

"What?" She asked not following

"Jarvis, where is the nearest window?"

"Down the hall sir, you can get there is plenty of time." The AI replied.

"El,  I got a plan. You won't like it but I have a plan." Tony smirked his  famous Stark smirk and Ella couldn't help but feel a sense of dread in  the pit of her stomach.

"Cap! If Ella is right about the  lockdown we might not be able to get to Moorefield in time." Natasha  shouted at Steve. Both were still battling their way through Lumia  agents trying to get to the door where Moorefield had barricaded himself  in.
