[It’s past 6 ante meridiem already (WAN: Wow! MERIDIEM, Heavy! Pero sa madaling salita AM lang ang ibig sabihin no’n, pinahirapan lang kita.) Kai is still sleeping. . . So Manang Bertha went upstairs to wake him up. ]
[Kinatok ni Manang Bertha ang pinto. . . [tok, tok,tok] pero ‘alang sumagot. . . She decided to open the door by herself.]
Manang Bertha: Kai, gomesing kana your breakpast is preperd already. You will be late for the perst day in school, herry up!
[Nagising na si Kai, pupungay-pungay pa ang mga mata. Gumapang papunta sa opposite side of his bed. Sinubukan tumayo, pero hindi nagpatalo ang kama. . . Knock-out ulit siya!]
(WAN: Nangyayari din ‘yan sa’yo no? Aminin mo. . .)
Kai: Just give me a few minutes. . .
[Bumirit ng kanta si Manang Bertha. ‘Yun nga lang Bisaya Version]
Kai: Okay, okay. . . Just let me take a bath first.
Yaya Bertha: No! No bat bat! You go down na, don’t let food wait. . .
Kai: . . .
[Bumaba na nga ang inaantok pang si Kai. May dalawang maid na napatingin sa kanya]
[Ang isa nagpupunas ng vase, ang isa naman nililinis ang sahig gamit ang vacuum cleaner]
2 Maids: Good Morning Sir Kai!
Kai: Good Morning. . .
[Meron hinahanap si Kai]
Kai: [Nakatingin kay Manang Bertha] Where is she?
Manang Bertha: Oh she? She left early in the morning. . . Many things to do daw.
Kai: Oh I see. . .
[Hinanda ni Manang Bertha ang mga pinggan, kutsara’t tinidor at baso]
[Naupo na si Kai sa ‘mesa]
Yaya Bertha: You’ll be having steamed rice, miso soup, and grilled fish for breakfast.
(WAN: Kahit na medyo ‘di marunong mag-English si Manang Bertha, napakagaling naman niya magluto, especially Japanese foods.)
Kai: Itadakimasu. . . (I greatfully received. . .)
(WAN: Kung tayong mga purong pinoy, sign of the cross, sila naman itadakimasu. Lagi nilang sinasabi ‘yan bago kumain. Samantalang ang mga ibang Pilipino, LAMON agad. Sinong guilty? ‘Wag denial. . .)
[Unti-unting inubos ni Kai ang pagkain niya. Pero napansin niya na parang may kulang pa.]
[Binuksan ni Manang Bertha ang flat screen T.V. sa living room]
