Hilary stepped outside, breathing in the smell of fall. It was always her favorite season. She loved to watch the leaves change, feel the crisp breeze on her neck, and the feel of her Northface jacket on her back one again. Oh, how she had missed it. It was October 9th, and Hilary could not have been happier. She had the perfect life. Head cheerleader, parents who weren't divorced, all the friends in the world, and the hottest guy in school as her boyfriend. There was no way this year could go wrong for her. She walked out to the street, scanning the cars for the red Mercedes which would be her ride. Her auburn hair was curled to perfection, a red scarf thrown around her thin, pale neck, and a simple half sleeved gray dress that made her bright blue eyes look stunning. As the bright red car raced around the curve, Hilary smiled and held out her hand to wave.
And that's when the bullet hit her.
