RJ had always admired Maine's flawless skin.

It was creamy, like the finest serving of café latte. Smooth, like the finest silk. Soft, like the finest cotton.

So he was surprised when he found her skin marred with something akin to... scratches.

Maine had glared at him when he had first reached out to touch the small red, angry lines. But she had soon relaxed--- when RJ wouldn't stop caressing her face.

Soon, her head was on his chest. She had even allowed him to wrap an arm around her shoulders, his laptop on her lap. RJ couldn't exactly tell when they became this comfortable with each other, but he wasn't complaining. It felt... right. They fit so well together.

"What happened?" he asked silently as Maine played Solitaire.

"Eliza," Maine responded absentmindedly.

"Your sister did this to you?"

Maine nodded. "Yes," she said as she dragged the Ace of Heart towards the other Aces. "She saw me kiss you. She was jealous."

"She was jealous of me?"

Maine looked up and placed a kiss on his jaw. RJ also couldn't recall when exactly they started being this affectionate.

"Eliza has a sister complex," she explained. "I am her only world. And she is my only world."

"She hasn't met the others yet?"

"She knows them," Maine responded. "Eliza is everywhere. They just don't see her often."

"Will I be able to meet her?"

Maine stared at him for a few moments before she nodded. "When she's ready."

When she's ready happened sooner than later.

RJ was still nowhere near finished, and he still hasn't found his angle, but he was getting somewhere in his story. He had been preoccupied all morning that he failed to come down for breakfast and lunch. When he had finally noticed the time, he had decided to come down and make himself a sandwich.

He was surprised to see a girl occupying Maine's seat when he passed by the living room. When he met her eyes, her mocking, knowing eyes, he knew. He knew.

It was... the girl outside his room. He couldn't be mistaken. The built, the length of the hair---

Yes. This was the girl outside his room. One of the shadows than haunted him at night.

A smirk appeared on her pretty little face, as if she knew what he was thinking.

"There was once a prominent couple who was granted beautiful triplets," she suddenly started. "They had been the envy of the society couples, their eyes on the three beautiful bundles of joy. The sisters grew up close, well-mannered, and beautiful. Perfect, that's what they were called.

"They were seven-years-old when their parents found out that the perfection was just a façade. A mask that simply covered the dark alter egos blooming within.

"At seven, they had murdered a servant together. For fun."

RJ remained silent, but his mind was taking in every word coming out from that supposedly innocent mouth.

"The servant was found inside the triplets' room, seated on the window seat, and dressed in beautiful clothes. Her limbs and head were severed from her body, but were sewn perfectly back together with thick yarn.
