Katie's POV~

I parked my car in the parking lot of the roller way and walked towards the ticket booth. I've never gone to a place like this and I don't know why I haven't gone earlier. I walked up to the counter and a nice middle aged woman wearing leg warmers greeted me with a smile.

"Hi, could I please by a ticket?" I asked, shyly.

"Of course pumpkin. One adult ticket will be $10 and if you would like to rent some roller skates, it has an additional $5 rent fee. If it's your first time here, I recommend you to also rent a walker so that it'll help you get used to roller skating."

"The adult ticket fee is for people 18 and up right?"

"Yes sweetie."

"I'm actually 16 years old."

"For a tall girl like you, you seem older. Not in a bad way but you're very tall for your age and you seem to look mature." She said, with a smile.

"Thanks." I said with a chuckle. I don't know why but most people think that I look older. Is that bad? Isn't it better if people look younger for there age?

"You're going to be renting roller skates yeah?" The woman asked, as she added up the total amount of money I had to pay on the cash register.

"Yes."

"Okay, that'll be $13." I pulled out my money and handed it to her.

"Enjoy." The woman said.

I walked into the roller way and headed to the place that let you rent roller skates and walkers. I walked up to the counter and showed another lady my receipt. My receipt showed whether I payed the $5 rent fee or not. After she gave me my shoes, I also rented a walker. I'm probably going to embarrass myself in front of everyone but it's better to be safe than sorry. I looked around and saw a bunch of people rollerskating. One guy that was skating, caught my eye and he looked really cute. He had brown hair and he was wearing a grey muscle tee and some black skinny jeans with his grey inline roller skates. I know I'm boy crazy but I couldn't help myself. Another thing that caught my eye was the neon lights that flashed and moved around inside the rink. There was really good music playing and I was gonna have a blast. How hard could this be?

I sat on a bench near the entrance of the roller rink and loosened the laces on my roller skates to get my feet in the shoes smoothly. It took a lot of effort and sweat before I got those annoying shoes on. Once I finished tying both my shoes, I tried to stand up. I almost fell to my death a few times but I managed to keep myself off the ground and standing still. I grabbed onto my walker and attempted to walk but it was harder than I thought. As I was standing still, I looked into the roller rink and saw a bunch of little kids doing better than me and my hopes were not as high as when I first got here.

Katie, get yourself together! I said to myself. You literally just got here. At least try to make an effort.

Agh. I hated my conscience. I waddled with my walker until I got close enough to the entrance.

"Move it lady , you're blocking the way!" A little boy said behind me.

"Ryan! Where are your manners? Apologize to the young woman." A lady said. I assumed it was the little boy's mom.

"Sorry." The kid said, and began to skate.

"I apologize for my child's behavior." The woman said.
