Hello all!

Finally managed to update after the worst case of writers block (sorry about that) Sooo this chapter didn’t go where I originally thought it would because apparently more suspense is needed before things get serious ;) But, I can promise the next chapter will finally deliver with more interesting events.

Now read on my minions, and thank you to everyone who is following this tedious story =)

The rest of the day flew by, and I was too nervous and excited for even the chauvinistic pigs at work to sour my mood. By the time I made it home I only had an hour and a half to get ready for dinner. Crap, I don’t even know where he’s taking me…how casual should I dress? I decided to dress up a little, and be damned if it were too much. I found an old black dress with long lace sleeves which hit about mid-thigh. After rushing through the shower and “putting on my face” as my mother used to call it when she did her makeup, I was finally ready with about fifteen minutes to spare. I went out into the dining area where Aiden was seated at the table, nervously playing with his phone.

‘Alright, he’ll be here soon. Please don’t freak out or do anything stupid because you already said enough this morning. Quite frankly I’m shocked that he’s even interested in seeing me after that’ I tell him with a pointed glare. He swallows and averts his eyes. We’d had a short discussion about his behaviour and I was glad to see he’d actually been listening. I still haven’t been able to bring myself to tell him who Ben is, and I’m dreading the moment when he opens the door to see Sherlock standing there. Aside from being a famous celebrity, he was also significantly older than I am and I didn’t expect that to escape Aiden’s notice.

‘I know, I know – I said I was sorry. But hey, the guy still wants to see you’ he winked at me and I could feel my face turn red at that. ‘I promise not to embarrass you again; I’ll just say hello and leave you alone after introductions are over.’

‘Good, but there’s something else…you may recognise him from somewhere,’ I hedged ‘just promise me you won’t freak out.’ He looks at me questioningly, confused.

‘How would I know–‘a knock at the door interrupts and we both turn to stare at it for a few seconds before I get myself together. I turn to glare at him as I make my way over to open it.

‘Remember – don’t freak out or do anything stupid! He’s just a normal guy who’s friends with your sister. Don’t treat him any differently because of who he is.’ I can see by the look on his face that I have completely lost him. I just hope he can keep it together. I glance at my watch as I open the door. He’s five minutes early.

And there he is, standing outside in the hallway. Benedict Cumberbatch. If I hadn’t checked so many times before I would have been sure this was all a dream. But there he was looking amazing in dark dress pants and a plain white shirt. God, he looks edible! I just want to-No! None of that tonight Elena! He smiles and I try to collect my muddled thoughts. I smile back hesitantly.

‘Hello there, sorry I’m a little early-‘

‘Oh no it’s fine-‘

‘You look lovely Elena. Thank you for agreeing to see me tonight.’

I blush and look away, gesturing him to come inside and say hello to my brother. I take a deep breath before turning around and guiding him over to where Aiden is seated. He’s frozen in place, staring disbelievingly at Ben. I clear my throat nervously and step to the side, sort of between the two of them.

‘Aiden, this is my friend Benedict, and Ben, this is my little brother.’ I watch them carefully, hoping Aiden will be polite. Luckily Ben takes charge and smiles warmly at my brother, walking forward and extending his hand in greeting.
