Chapter 4
JOE'S POV
"Joe! Please will you put your phone down and pay attention!?" The teacher shouted angrily.
"Do I have to? It's just boring, easy work." I moan.
"Is that so? Please answer the question on the board then." The teacher says snottily, holding out a piece of chalk.
"Urgh!" I screech, slamming my phone down on the table. I walk up to the board and snatch the chalk out of the teachers hand. I write the answer on the blackboard and walk back to my seat, with a flourish. I laugh when I sit down, due to the teachers gaping mouth. She thinks that I never listen at school... She's right though, I don't. I study when I have nothing to do and can't sleep... I'm actually two years ahead of everyone... But no one knows and no one will, ever, find out...
- later -
I wake up sharply to a loud ringing in my ears. I groan, as I realise its the bell that signals the end of first period. Maths is a double period and I hate double periods! I snuggle back up to my arm, when the teacher walks over, tapping me on the shoulder. "Now that your awake, maybe you would like to do the work? If you can finish this advanced worksheet, then you can go back to sleep. I really don't care what happens to you, as long as I don't look bad." She slaps the sheet on my desk and makes her way back to the black board. I groan and groggily search for my pencil in my bag. I throw my bag down on the floor in temper, when I can't find it. Abby pokes me with her pencil and I scowl at her, taking it. Then we both just randomly burst out laughing, with the teacher tutting at us. I quickly finish the worksheet and put it on the teachers desk, raising my eyebrows. She sighs, checks it and marks the whole page with ticks.
I make a noise, "Hum." In satisfaction and make my way back to my seat, to resume my nap...
