December 8

"Michael! Where did you put my stuff?" I yell.

"It's all in your room!" He responds.

"Michael, this is all Anna's stuff!"

"Oops. My bad mom!" Ugh.

Michael is the only one who has ever called me mom.

Michael's mom passed away when he was 10. He moved to California at age 12, where he met Joey and I. His dad was always working, so Michael was left alone. I noticed he hadn't been wearing clean clothes and my motherly instincts took over from there. I taught Michael how to wash clothes, clean, and cook. He's been calling me mom ever since.

"Sarah, did you put away all your clothes?"

I walked into Sarah's bedroom. She was on the floor, playing with her barbies.

"Hey, Emma." She looks up at me and smiles.

"Sarah. I told you to put away your clothes."

"Just five more minutes."

"Fine, but if you're not finished, than you have to stay here with Jacob while I go shopping with Joey."

"Okay. Okay! I'm going!"

I walk into Anna's room and grab my bags. I pass by Sarah's room and see her stuff her clothes in the drawers.

"Sarah, fold your clothes."

After switching my and Anna's bags. I head downstairs and find Jacob asleep on the couch.

"Jake? Why is the couch in the dining room?"

"Anna and I kept arguing so she left me here with the couch." He smiles up at me.

"Come on. I want to go to the stores to buy dishes, and crap."

We finish arranging the living room. Damn. We need more stuff. After 2 days of house shopping, I found this place that has 8 bedrooms, 5 1/2 bathrooms, living room, a cool looking kitchen, game room, patio, pool, a backyard that goes into the forest, and it's next to the lake. We were lucky to find a house with 5+ rooms. The weird part about it is that four of the rooms are under the house. I guess the previous owners needed rooms like us. It also has a private driveway, so the house is somewhat discreet. Our only neighbors are the people who live on the other side of the lake.

"Is this everything we need?" I look at the four shopping carts.

I always did like Target when we needed house stuff. I did get pretty picky about the furniture.

"Yup."

"Yup."

"No!" Jacob says.

"Here we go . . . " Anna rolls his eyes.

Jacob throws her a dirty look.

"Jake I told already told you. We're not getting 2 XBOX 360's."

I found it kind of pointless, but I did want to give him one for Christmas. It was a few weeks away.

"I'm just saying. We already have one for the living room. Why can't we have one for downstairs for Michael and I?" Jacob was persistent, which made it a little annoying.

"No, Jacob." I walk away and take the carts to the register.

"Let's go. We still have to get Sarah's bed."
