~Spencer's POV~
I woke up in a cabin treehouse place in the middle of the woods. Trying to remember why or how I'd gotten here. Then, I saw Ezra soundlessly sleeping on a cot in the corner of the treehouse. Suddenly everything came back, asking about my parents, leaving late last night, and Ezra saying "Let's go somewhere where they won't find us forever." Strangely, I feel safe here, maybe his intentions for taking me here were to keep me safe, and not to sleep with me. Although, I had gotten that vibe a few times from him.
I got up and walked around the 20x20 treehouse. Old books were stacked on a shelf with dust all over them, a small cooking stove, a couch and a cot with a fireplace in the corner still burning. I had to admit it was cozy. Then I heard Ezra waking up. He looked so adorable when he slept. When he arose he saw me sitting on the couch.
"Good morning sleeping beauty," I said sarcastically.
"What are you doing up so early?"
"I wake up really early when I'm in strange places."
"Ya, uh, about that. Can we talk?" Ezra said hesitantly.
"Alright, shoot."
"Spencer, do you think anything is odd about me?"
"No, you just like to keep to yourself. You're a very, how do I say it? A reserved person."
"Ya, I guess that's part of it. The reason I took you here is if you ever needed somewhere safe, just to escape your house for the night or anything, come here"
"You sound like you know from experience? Ezra are you ok?"
"Yes, I'm fine"
"Are you lying?"
"Yes."
Instantly something popped into my mind. Is Ezra depressed? I mean everything that has happened in his life, why wouldn't he be? Was Ezra a cutter? I had to know. I took his arm ad he had a puzzled expression. I lifted the sleeves of his hoodie and my question was answered by all the fading red lines that almost looked like a ladder, cuts climbing up his forearms. This was the real Ezra, and I had to save him.
