Alex's POV

I watched Jackie intently as she lay on the hospital bed. She had bruises covering her face and was unconscious. This was all my fault and there was nothing I could do about it.

I can't fix this mess.

But you can fix it.

How? By bringing her flowers or chocolate?!? That will not help.

Then think! What does she like? What would make her forgive you?

I pondered on that thought and came to the realization that I didn't know what she liked. I needed to call up Emily and see if she could help me.

I called Emily and she picked up after the third ring.

"Hello?" She answered.

"Hey Emily! I really need your help with something!"

"Listen if it's for homework I don't-"

"No no. It's about Jackie."

She stood silent.

"I really need to know what she likes." I said finally breaking the silence.

"For what?"

"I need to make her happy and fix what I messed up."

"Well you sure f*cked up a lot so there is a lot of work that needs to be done."

"So you'll tell me what she likes?" I said with hope tracing off my voice.

"No."

My heart dropped and I was about to snap at her when she began to talk again.

"I'm not going to tell you because I'm going to help you fix things."

"Really?" I said shocked.

I couldn't believe she was willing to help me.

"But there is a catch."

I knew this was too good to be true.

"What is it?" I asked annoyed.

"You need to then help me fix things with Jacob. Things are really awkward between us since you and Jackie walked in on us."

When I saw Jacob and Emily I couldn't believe my eyes. I never thought they would be the ones to make out.

"Ok." I replied.

"Ok. Well we need to get to work. Meet me at my house in 20."

"But I'm here at the hospital watching Jackie."

"Stop being such a stalker and get over here." She demanded.

"Okay, okay. I'm coming."

I hung up and rolled my eyes. Emily can be so persistent and annoying.

I took one last look at Jackie and took a deep breath. I hope she wakes up soon because if she doesn't, it will be all my fault.

***

I arrived at Emily's house and rang the doorbell. She opened the door and had a baby in her arms.

"I didn't know you had a little brother."

"I don't," Emily responded. "I have to babysit right now and you're going to help me."
