I sat in my normal seat at the dinner table next to my younger sister and older brother. Everyone sat quietly and didn't speak. Finally I dropped my fork on to my glass plate.
"What the hell is wrong with everyone?!" My family looked shocked and terrified. "You guys are staring down your plates and not saying a word to me.. So I'll say it again, what the hell is wrong?"
My father looked stunned and kept glaring at me with his harsh green eyes. I turned towards my older brother Mark who was fiddling with his peas. Next, I checked on my younger sister Olivia, who looked at me with such certainty. Both of my siblings inherited my dad's eyes, but sadly I got a dark brown. Which didn't look like either of my parents. Suddenly, I felt a cold hand touch my wrist. It was my mother.. "Honey, we will talk after dinner."
I grabbed my plate and went into our tile floored kitchen. I threw the plate into the sink. The white glass shattered into pieces. I ran past the island in our kitchen to the wooden stairs. Once I reached the top floor I turned towards the right where my room was.
My room was very dark shaded. Hidden from the world.. The red sheets were soft and comfortable. At least they were, until my parents barged in.
"Blake?" I grunted softly after hearing my moms recurring voice. "We need to talk.." I sat up and fixed my hair into a large, messy bun.
"H-here." My mom stuttered with a tear rolling down her cheek. Her hair was flattened and fell into her face. She handed me an envelope. I slowly tore open the seam and inside was a letter.
"From Aunt Kate? I'm confused." Aunt Kate lived in the UK. No kids and no husband.
"We adopted you from Aunt Kate. B-but." A tear fell from my eye. How could they not have told me sooner?! Anger filled inside of me. "We agreed once you turn 16 you could go live with her...." Silence filled the room.. I couldn't explain my feelings. Although, I was relieved that I could leave this hell-hole to go live with my Aunt... No she is my mom...
