Chapter 9

~~~Katheren's P.O.V. ~~~
Planning a wedding is more stressful than it sounds. With the event of Halloween long forgotten, everybody- by everybody, I mean Lyn, Sabrina, and Daren's mother, Mellissa. Apparently we needed gowns, tuxes, cake, decorations, imitations, catering, and flowers- not the bouquet, but other kinds too- and some other things that I had already forgotten what they were. I was lost, completely and without a doubt lost.
I tried to help them out, I honestly tried, but I could have been just sitting back and watching the show for all the help that I did. I didn't get to see Daren during the day, only at night since I was staying over at his house because his parents and my aunt both decided that we needed sleep and knew we wouldn't try... anything because of the threats that they gave us.
The brides mates- mate, Sabrina was my only one- dress had already been found and bought, Daren already had his tux fitted, as did his dad- who was going to walk me down the isle since my dad didn't live long enough to-, the cake order was in, the small number of invitations sent out, the church and the catering service booked. Basically all that we needed were my dress and the flowers, well at least I hoped.
It was March now, and the wedding was set for June twenty-first, the summer solstice. I still thought that we had tons of time, but the girls didn't seem so certain, I didn't even try to pretend to understand when they tried to explain otherwise to me. Tomorrow all three of them were taking me out to find a dress design so that it could be tailored.
"I am so tired!" I groaned that night, dropping onto Daren's bed after my long, hot shower.
I could hear Daren's laugh through the closet door as he changed for bed. "And why is that?" he asked innocently when he finished.
"Your mother, my aunt, and my so-called-best-friend are trying to kill me! I swear to god that they are!"
He smirked and sat down on the bed, moving my head to reposition it on his chest. "And how do you think that they are doing that?"
"They make me go shopping from the second that school ends until eight o'clock at night and they still expect me to have a social life and get my hours of homework done. And I don't even like shopping!"
He shook his head, exasperated. "I don't even get how they could think of things to look for that long. Sometimes girl logic is completely lost on me."
"You're not the only one! I am not exactly a tom-boy, but I am not a girly-girl either, I don't understand the fashion crap or shopping for days on end and still enjoying it."
I felt him move under me and I knew that he was trying not to laugh. "Considering how persistent Sabrina is, you're going to learn soon. You have your faults, but I love you anyway."
"How is that a fault? I don't think that not understanding things that normal girls do without even thinking is a fault. Oh, wait, don't comment."
"But-"
I lightly elbowed him in the ribs. "Oh shut up or else."
"Or else what?" he challenged.
"Or else that you will need to find a new bride."
He stiffed, but then relaxed and when he spoke, he sounded amused. "If you think that I would get up that easily then you have another thing coming. Once I go after something, I don't give up until I have it, you will be my wife even if I have to kidnap you."
"Ha ha, very funny," I said sarcastically. Then something occurred to me. "Why do you want to marry me so badly anyway?" I asked him seriously, "I mean when you proposed we had only known each other for about a month. So why the urgency? Why not wait? We have all of our lives, why now?"
