I awoke with no dreams, which was good. I looked around me to find Bemo asleep leaning against the door, while Grace was asleep to my right. Outside the car was pitched dark, no light at all.
"Where are we?" I asked sleepily.
"We're almost there, were just in the woods. You'll know when were there, nobody could miss it." Jayce began to talk. "Once we get there, we all have to stop in the counsel room, since there waiting for us to report back.” He paused and began again. “I got to tell them about you and Grace." I reached to move my hair out of my face when I felt the dull burning ache in my arm. I hissed out and bit my lip.
"Ro, you okay?" Jayce asked. I flinched from hearing my nickname from his mouth. Only Haydn has ever called me that. He moved so he was facing me, "I'll talk to the counsels about your hand, something’s not right." I stared at him.
"So, now there’s something wrong with me?" I asked harshly. It’s just a burn... nothing’s wrong with me.
"It’s not just a burn Romi; those are symbols which mean so much more.” He paused. "We're here." I looked out the window. He was right; it wasn’t something you could miss. The whole place was lit with endless light, which is probably how they got the name. The colors of gold maroon and many more shone through the town. It was breath taking how beautiful it was. I looked around, noticing far behind the town you could see the dark looming castle.
"Where are we, back in the 1800?" I asked curiously, mixed with sarcasm. Jayce looked back at me, a smile playing on his lips. Never know... a voice whispered in my head. His voice... He was talking to me, but not really speaking. He grinned, and looked back in front of him.
"Ro... mom.. Rooo mom." Grace called, I smiled. I leaned forward and looked at her. She yawned and looked at me sleepily.
"We're almost there Gracie." I whispered to her noticing the car stopped and Haydn turned it off.
"Okay, so we’re all going to head into the counsels’ room and you guys cannot talk unless spoken too. Got it?" Jayce asked. I nodded and looked over at Bemo, she was sleeping. I laughed and shook her awake. She groaned and looked at Jayce. Jayce repeated what he said with a grin and she nodded.
All of us got out of the car and we headed towards the front of the castle. Grace snuggled against me as we walked. I gazed at the castle, It was black from top to bottom; there was looming towers that looked as if they would pierce the sky. It was beautiful in a dark way.
As Jayce and Haydn made it towards the castles door, I was expecting the door to be like the old movies, where it came down by men twirling chain, though it was a regular door that was twice the size compared to a normal one. Jayce grabbed the knocker on the door and banged twice. I flinched as the door opened and a maid answered.
“Hello, come in, come in. There waiting for you, Though there a little mad about you guys taking so long.” She told Jayce truthfully. She was only in her 20’s with charcoal hair that was cut in a pixie hair style; it brought out her thick green eyes.
“Yeah, yeah, there was a problem, but it’s alright.” He told her and walked in, Haydn flanking his side.
I followed behind with Bemo, she looked a little pale. “You okay?” I asked in a whisper. She looked at me and nodded. I grabbed her hand and squeezed it.
