We dumped our drinks on the counter and got out. The cool night air rushed up to greet me, sending my open hair in a flying frenzy. We had exited through the back door of the bar and were now in an alley that was barely lit up by lamp posts from the main street. I watched a vicious, destitute cat scratch at a mouse and chase after it as it scampered away.
I grabbed Aaron’s hand and pushed him against a stone wall. We started making out.
Without breaking our kiss, I furtively reached for the knife stashed under my jacket. In his moment of enjoyment, Aaron didn’t notice a thing. Good, I noted with a hint of a smile. I counted to three in my head prior to the big moment, and then stabbed him clean in the stomach.
He stopped abruptly, his eyes going wide for a second. I pulled out the knife and stabbed him twice more for good measure.
I stepped back and surveyed as he fell to the ground, his body writhing in pain in sync with his gasps of pain before it went limp. A wave of euphoria wash over me. The deed was done.

As the night got older, I felt the panic settle in. Every time the handle of the backdoor rustled, I would look at it, scared out of my mind that someone was going to come out, only to realize it was the wind.
I sat on an overturned cardboard box, still in my dress, running my hands roughly through my hair. What had I done? I kept on asking myself. Why? So far, my head was completely empty and I had been incapable of coming up with something. I didn’t have a watch but it must have been two hours at least since the…..well, since I killed him. Only now I’m not so sure it was me. What if I was still possessed? The more I thought about it, the more it made sense. It wasn’t me. It COULDN’T be me. I would never kill him, I……loved him. I should have never got out tonight. I shouldn’t have listened to Odette.
The realization churned my stomach and compelled tears to run down my face. My parents would KILL me if they found out. With trembling hands, I reached out and pulled out the bloodstained knife from his stomach. His glassy eyes stared back me accusingly, blaming me. I knew his stare would haunt me forever.
Wrapping it up in an old handkerchief, I shoved it back into the pocket on the inside of my blue denim jacket. This was incriminating evidence that would only get me in hot water if it was to be found by the police. It was better to dispose it off at home. I hauled his body, which was heavy by the way, pushed it into the trunk of my car and sighed. It was going to be a long night of work.
