Two weeks passed quickly. I was so busy with my piano and guitar classes, work at the candy store, putting Christmas decorations up and dates with Leo. Things were still pretty good with us. I loved every second around him.
Today was three days before Christmas and the night of Jason’s party. I was at Macy’s house getting ready.
“Oh, that dress is perfect for today!” she told me.
I smiled. “Nowhere near as good as yours.”
It was true. My dress was perfect for the party but I liked Macy’s so much more. My dress was a dark metallic blue strapless dress with a thick black belt around the middle. It had long pleats in the middle and came a little above my knees. I was wearing it with high black strappy heels. But Macy’s was a hot pink strapless dress which reached the knees. The skirt was ruffled and was kind of puffy. It suited her figure nicely.
Today I decided to go for straightened hair rather than my usual curls and put on my make-up. I was ready a few minutes to eight. Macy got ready at the same time. Once it was time, Mike and Dylan came to pick us up. Mike and I had decided to go with each other as friends as neither of us wanted to go with a proper date. Macy, on the other hand, had been asked by Dylan, who apparently had been crushing on her since eighth grade. We both climbed into Mike’s shiny red convertible.
“Looking good, Lily.” Mike complimented as I buckled myself in.
I looked at his outfit; he was wearing an average black shirt which he rolled the sleeves to his elbows and black denim pants.
“You too. I mean, I hardly ever see you in denim pants!” I said sarcastically.
He rolled his eyes. “What’s a guy supposed to wear to a party? A suit?”
I laughed.
It took us almost twenty minutes to get there. Once we parked the car we all stepped out into the snowy grounds. It had been snowing heavily lately and by now everything was covered in snow.
I could see tonnes of people outside the house just talking and nearly everyone was clutching a plastic cup. I knew there’d be alcohol but I didn’t know that there’d be enough for everyone to have a drink.
I grabbed Mike’s arm and together we got inside. The inside was crammed with people. I was pressed against people as we walked in. The music was so loud that I could barely hear tell what Mike was saying even though he was right next to me.
“I’M GOING TO GET US SOME DRINKS!” he bellowed.
“LET ME COME WITH YOU, I DON’T WANT TO GET LOST!”
Followed his to the bar in Jason’s garden. There were people crowding it. We managed shove people out of the way and we got to the bar.
I looked around, feeling horribly uncomfortable.
“LOOSEN UP!” Mike told me, shoving a cup into my hands.
I didn’t care what it was, I drank it all. I winced. Whatever it was, it was pretty strong.
“MORE!” I told the guy at the bar.
He refilled the cup and passed it to me. I drank it straight down. Eventually I had about ten to fifteen refills and I was buzzed. Everything was slightly burry but I felt more than alive. Everything felt like it would be fun.
I grabbed Mike’s hand and pulled him over to the living room where the music was the loudest. I began dancing like mad. He just laughed and did the same. I was hopping around to the beat and then I got up onto the coffee table which was pushed to the side of the room along with the rest of furniture. I started dancing before screaming.
