The runaways(series book one)

Chapter 9

Molly:
When we got back to the house Sarah and Cole were asleep in Sarah's bedroom. Blake and I went into the living room to watch a movie. We watched Stand up then after the movie we ate leftover spaghetti for dinner. We went into my room and watched YouTube on our phones until we fell asleep. When we woke up around 8:30 Sarah and Cole were still asleep. Blake and I stood by the bed and on three we jumped on top of them.
"Ahhhh!" Screamed Cole
"You scream like a girl!" Blake said. Blake and I fell off the bed because we were laughing so hard.
Sarah looked at Cole who was blushing and started laughing
Sarah:
After we finished laughing, I got up and made waffles and bacon. Cole got orange juice and set the table for 4. Cole had to go help set up the party for later and on the way he dropped Blake off after breakfast. Molly and I went in my room to find clothes for the party later. I pulled out a black dress that was short in the front and long in the back. I found my small black heels I wore when Cole and I went to the movies. I straightened my hair and put on light makeup before getting dressed. I kissed Molly goodbye when Cole was outside.
"Text me if you need anything okay?" I told Molly.
"Okay I'm just going  to be sitting in my room reading." We waved bye and I left.
We arrived to the house and the yard had cars filling up everywhere. We parked across the street and made our way towards the house. We walked inside and I smelt alcohol, it smelt like the inside of my house when I lived with mom. Feelings started rushing through my body. I don't drink so I stayed away from the bar.
"Heyy Cole." A boy said coming up from behind us.
I jumped and looked back and smiled. He looked like he was very drunk and sounded like it too.
"Alex!" Cole said and did that boy hug thingy they do. "Sarah this is my friend Alex, Alex this is my friend Sarah."
When he said that I was his friend my heart sank. I thought we would have been a little more than friends considering what has happened between us.
"Hey Alex." I said and tried to force a smile.
"She's a pretty one. You haven't done anything with her like the last one? Haha!" Alex said trying to whisper but I could hear him clearly.
"Other what?" I asked confused.
"Nothing he's clearly drunk. He doesn't know what he's saying." Cole said quickly and took Alex with him to get a drink. Cole looked back at me and said, "Wait here I'll be back in a minute."
A guy walked up and said, "Hey did you get hurt when you fell from heaven because your the prettiest angel I've ever seen."
It was the cheesiest thing I've ever heard that I couldn't help but laugh.
Cole:
"She's a pretty one. You haven't done anything with her like the last one? Haha!" Stupid drunk Alex tried to whisper but everyone that knows Alex knows that he can't whisper to save his life when he's drunk.
I could tell that Sarah heard him by the way she looked at him like she was trying to figure out if he was just messing around.
Then she asked, "Other what?"
I didn't know what to do so I just made up some lame excuse and said, "Nothing he's clearly drunk. He doesn't know what he's saying." Then I grabbed his sleeve and started walking over to the bar but I remembered that Sarah might follow so i told her, "Wait here I'll be back in a minute."
When Alex had a drink in his hand I said, "What the hell dude you know that I didn't tell her!"
Alex just shrugged and said, "It's not my fault she has super hearing."
"She doesn't have super hearing dude! She is not one of those crazy chicks that can hear everything and see everything!"
"I was whispering." Alex said and took a sip of his beer.
"God Damnit Alex! How many times do I have to tell you that you can't whisper at all when you're drunk!?" I yelled and rolled my eyes.
I heard Sarah's laugh and looked for her and saw her talking to some guy in the corner. My face was red with anger as I walked over there trying to cool off.
Sarah:
"Hey Cole. This is Anthony." I smiled until I saw his face.
"Cole what's wrong?" He stormed out and I lost him in the crowd of people.
I rushed to the bar to see if he was there but I only saw Alex.
"Hey Sarah, want a drink?" He asked already pouring a drink.
"Where's Cole?!" I said still looking for him.
"I think he went back home." He took a sip of his drink and walked away.
I knew I couldn't drink but I was really stressed out and needed something to calm me down so I took the drink Alex left on the bar and I sat down by myself. Anthony walked over and sat down next to me.
"Can I get a beer?" He asked the bartender and looked over at me.
"You okay? You kind of rushed off." He asked taking a swig of his beer.
I looked down at my empty drink and forced myself not to get another but my feelings took over my body and I got another one and chugged it down.
"Wow. So you aren't okay huh?" He put his arm around me and I didn't have the strength to move so I sat there laying my head on him with my 3rd drink.
I couldn't stop thinking of Cole or my mom. Everything was falling apart. "Woah Sarah I thought you and Cole were a thing, who's this?" Alex came over with two drinks in his hand.
The next thing I know I was asleep on the couch and my phone was ringing.
Molly:
Sarah has been gone since she left yesterday but Cole came over late last night and since it was like midnight I asked him to stay in case Sarah didn't come home. I woke up screaming so he came into my room and we fell asleep in my bed together. I just woke up and I don't think Sarah's home yet. I don't want to get up and check because I feel safe with his arm wrapped around me. Like you do with a big brother. Well I think, because I never had a big brother. He doesn't look as happy as he does with Sarah so I think they had a fight, i hope they make up with each other so we can have more nights like this but with Sarah too.
"Hey you awake?" I heard Cole ask sleepily.
"Yeah..." When I said this he sat up and stretched.
I got up and stretched then called Sarah. I had to call her three times before she actually picked up the phone.
"Sarah!? Where are you? You didn't come home last night!" I yelled into the phone.
"I.." She tried to say something but I cut her off when I yelled, "I had another nightmare last night and you weren't there with me!"
"I'm so sorry babe." Sarah said.
"Cole was there for me when you weren't! And don't you dare use daddy's nickname for me!" After I said this I hung up the phone.
I went back into the bedroom and Cole held me in his arms while I cried.
