Chapter 19

Sarah:
After a couple minutes of Tom and Jerry a knock came from the door. Molly looked at me and smiled then rushed to the door to find Blake. They went to her room and I knew what they were talking about. Cole and I really had to talk. His arm was around me and I know I should move because of what happened last night. Anthony woke me up last night and we were still on the grass by the dock. I drove him back to the party and made it home. I don't remember what happened when I got home. Last night replayed in my head over and over again.
"Hey Cole, your phone just went off. Oh dude, it's Catherine." The guy said while handing Cole his phone. Cole looked at me and back to his phone. I nodded so he could answer it.
He opened his phone and the message said, "Cole I'm sorry about what happened last night can we please talk about it?"
He wrote a quick response that said, "No I told you I'm done."
Cole looked over and saw that I was looking at his messages. He looked apologetically at me and looked back at the phone.
"Well I told you last night that that was the biggest mistake of your life. And I'm trying to give you a second chance."
"And I told you the biggest mistake of my life was dating you! So leave me alone!" He typed angrily then tossed his phone behind the couch.
When Cole and I changed the Chanel to grey's anatomy Cole's friend lost interest in the tv and started looking at the pictures in the house.
When he left the living room Cole asked, "Do you want to talk?"
I just nodded my head and said, "We need to talk about last night too."
"Ok I'll explain last night first." Cole said and started talking. "We were hanging out and I guess I was kind of staring at you, a lot. She kind of got jealous and just kissed me and wouldn't let me go. I'm sorry Sarah, I really am."
I closed my eyes to hold the tears, "What about the mall?" I asked waiting for his answer.
"I tried to get over you but I realized that you are the only person I want." The words struck me as he said that he tried getting over me. Tears rolled down my cheeks. He pulled my hair out of my face and put it behind my ear. He looked at me and wiped the tears. I missed being this close to Cole. I missed him.
"I want you Sarah." Cole said still starring at me.
"I want you Cole." I slowly leaned in and kissed him. That feeling I missed the most.
"So I checked the news page, your mom said it was a misunderstanding. I'm not so sure that's what it was. What happened?" He asked as I laid my head on his shoulder.
"Last night I was with Anthony." He quickly backed up.
"What?" He said and he looked disappointed.
"No Cole, you can't look at me like that. You kissed your girlfriend in front of me and I went out with a friend. You can't be disappointed in me." I said moving away from him.
"Sarah, I'm not disappointed. Just a little shocked, that's all. I understand, it's okay." He pulled me to him. He whispered, "what happened with your mom?"
"After my dad passed away my mom, she uh, started drinking." I looked at him who was still concerned. "She made Molly and I feel like we did that to him. It was our birthday the day he died, so she blamed us." I wiped a tear. "She brought a guy home, David the guy from the arcade, he hit us, I had enough, I told Molly to get her things and I drove us here." He put his arm around me and held me close to him. "I called my mom and told her we were okay, I didn't want to go home yet."
"Sarah, you can't go home with David there." He said.
"When school starts, we have to go home, We have to."
"I'm not leaving you alone there." I smiled and hugged him.
A knock on the door became louder as I rushed to answer it.
Cole:
The girl that was with Sarah last night was standing at the door with her hands on her hips.
She yelled, "I thought I told you to pick me up at noon!"
"I'm so sorry Rae! I totally forgot!" Sarah said quickly.
"It doesn't matter anymore! You're not allowed to use my car anymore!" Rae said and took her car keys off of the key hook. She stormed out of the house and drove away in her car.
When Sarah looked at me I burst out laughing. Sarah's phone started ringing and she picked it up and after a minute she said, "Oh ok thanks anyway."
"What?" I asked her because she looked worried.
"The car was totaled because they couldn't fix it and now I don't have a car." She said and sat next to me.
"That's okay. I can take you where you want to go." I put my arm around her and she leaned her head on my shoulder.
