"Stiles what's wrong?" Lydia says. Stiles looks really uncomfortable. They hop in the car. "What about Scott?"
"He'll get a ride from Isaac." He looked very stressed.
"What happened?" Lydia whispered.
"Erica..." Stiles started. "She tried to fucking kiss me!"
"That's what girlfriends do, Stiles." Lydia laughed. "Wait... have you had your first kiss yet?"
"No," Stiles said, embarrassed. "I'm sure you have. You've probably had a million boyfriends at your old school." He whispers.
"I didn't even have any friends at my old school. No guy would ever want to date me." Lydia laughed, looking at the road Stiles was driving on.
"Why not?"
"Look at me, Stiles." she laughs again. "I'm just not like the other girls. I'm a... nerd. You said it yourself."
Stiles giggled. "You're kidding, right?"
"Why would I be kidding?"
"Lydia, you're, like, one of the most beautiful girls I've ever met." Lydia blushed at his comment. "And hey, I wouldn't mind dating a nerd."
"Are you, Stiles, implying that you want to date me?" They both laugh in disbelief.
Once they reach the apartment building, they say hi to the doorman and go in the elevator. This time, they don't press 3. They go straight to 4.
As they're about to go in their apartments, Lydia notices that Stiles looks depressed. "Hey." She tapped his shoulder. "Want to come to my apartment for a little bit? I have the bachelor on the DVR." she smirked.
"Oh, fuck yeah!" He smiled. "I mean... sure. Sounds good." Lydia laughed and offered him in. "Hey, it's clean now!"
"We finished unpacking yesterday, finally. We barely had any time to go shopping for new school supplies. But, nonetheless, we still managed it."
Lydia leads Stiles to her room. "And this is where the magic happens." She grins.
"You mean... where the bachelor happens?" Stiles laughs and Lydia rolls her eyes.
"Actually yes."
"So tell me about yourself, Lydia." Stiles says. "I know about your mom. Do you have a dad?" Lydia looked down at her feet when all the memories of her dad flashed back before her eyes. She sheds a tear at the sensitive topic, but quickly wipes it away. Stiles panics. "Oh... Lydia, I'm so sorry. We don't have to talk about—"
"He was abusive." Lydia sighed, flashing back to the horrible moments of her father. "and an alcoholic. He, uh... he hit me when I was a kid. A lot." Stiles starts tearing up at the subject and grabs her hand. "And, I remember this one moment vividly. One day when I was thirteen, my mom and I got home from school, and... we found him dead. He killed himself while my mom was picking me up from school. That moment will never escape my memory."
"Well, if it makes you feel any better... my mom's in the hospital. Has been for a couple of years."
"Why would that make me feel better?" Lydia wipes tears from her face. "Ugh, I hate when people watch me cry."
"You shouldn't care if people see you cry." Stiles said, stroking Lydia's cheek with his thumb, wiping another tear.
"Why?"
"Because I think you look really beautiful when you cry."
Lydia smiled at Stiles. "I'm sorry about your mom. We should visit her one of these days."
"Y'know, I used to visit her a lot. Like, daily."
"What happened?"
"My dad happened. He was drunk one night, like 3 months ago, and told me it was all my fault she was in the hospital. He has no memory of it, though. I'm scared to bring it up because I think it will ruin our relationship."
Lydia sighs. "We're a couple of messed up kids with some messed up families."
"Preach." He says, giving her a high five. "Not to mention we're both lip virgins."
"At least we have control over one of those things." Lydia mentioned.
"What are you implying?" Stiles smirked.
"What celebrity do you just really love?"
"I don't know how this makes any sense... but definitely Selena Gomez." Stiles admitted.
"Okay, pretend I'm Selena Gomez. And I'll pretend you're..." she thought awhile. "I'll pretend you're Dylan O'Brien."
"Who the hell is Dylan O'Brien?" he asks.
"He's an actor and he's really hot." Stiles gave an annoyed look at Lydia. "Okay, on the count of three... we kiss. You and Selena Gomez kiss, and me and Dylan O'Brien kiss."
"Okay." Stiles said. His breath was quite shaky. They leaned in until they were a centimeter away. "1..."
"2..."
"Lydia, wait." Stiles stopped her. "Can I change my person?" he guiltily smiled.
"Yeah." She whispered. "Who do you want it to be?"
"I want it to be you."
Stiles tucked back a strand of hair that was covering her face. He cupped Lydia's cheek and he slowly kissed her. He has no idea what he's doing, but neither did she.
Which made the moment perfect.
They continued kissing. Stiles slowly deepened the kiss, due to his instincts.
He let go of the strawberry blonde beauty. He stared into her perfect green eyes. He never wanted to fall this hard for this girl, they were only supposed to be friends.
"I-I better get going." Stiles said.
"I'll see you soon." Lydia replied after taking in what just happened.
Stiles began to walk out the door, and he stopped as he was through the doorframe. "I'm glad you were my first kiss."
