Chapter 15 - The Band is Back

"I guess we can make time for a quick interview, but we might be late for our next gig," Solomon said to Dr. Max as the five were brought back to the room they had been interviewed in before.

"I'm extremely sorry, we'll make this quick," Dr. Max said. "Take your seats, if you will."

"What d'ya need from us now?"

"Well, I talked with Shianne Nicholas the other day, she told me about the stay at the Kary's--"

"Shianne! I remember her, she was really nice," Solomon said as he and the rest sat, "I think she had a crush on me, it was a little funny."

"I knew it!" Jake piped up enthusiastically, pointing at Solomon. The two laughed, Nathan meekly chuckling along. The doctor cleared his throat, and the three quieted down and paid attention to him.

"Now that I've gotten all I needed from Miss Nicholas, I need to ask you what happened after you moved out," Dr. Max said, and all five soon went deep into thought.

"Well," Derek began, "we just started life, for real. We kept the band going, kept making music. It was exciting, going out in the world, being ourselves."

"Was there much else?"

"Not really--"

"Derek!" Nathan interrupted, drawing everyone's attention, "I should be the one with bad memory, but you don't remember getting abducted?"

An awkward silence filled the room as the five thought.

"Oh yeah!" Derek said, "That is something unforgettable. You see, Dr. Max, we somehow got noticed by the Arroth-Nil patrols, and we got taken to Nil. By far the most surreal thing I've ever experienced."

"Tell me all about it," the doctor said as he readied his pen and paper.

"It was a nice summer day in 2007, actually, just last year, and we were getting ready to record some new songs in the studio. Soli had weird looking hair, I think that's why we got found," Derek began, making the Olds brothers, Nathan, and the doctor chuckle.
