Not a bird sang, not a grasshopper chirped on the cloudy day a month later.
Leaves slowly fell over the town as the sky was plagued with dark grey clouds.
It was a month from Dipper's death; the funeral. Will was waiting downstairs, sadly stroking the engagement ring on his finger, a hand on his stomach as his intestines were tying up in knots. Plus he wanted to keep the developing children inside him safe.
He was in a suit that was different from his normal attire, wearing a black blazer over a navy blue shirt which had light blue buttons on the shirt, his black bow tie around his neck and a black veil on the front and back of his top hat which shadowed his eyes.
His fingers were curled around a small bunch of black roses, looking down at the floor.
Mabel's clothes of mourning also differed from her usual show or formal attire.
She had her headband with her amulet on, but she wore a long black dress which was down to just above her ankles with slightly puffed sleeves, a black velvet choker and black lipstick. She also had black fishnet gloves and black flats, a blue cotton handkerchief was in her small black clutch purse which had sparkly sequins on it.Mabel came downstairs and went into the foyer where Dipper's fiancé was waiting, holding her own small bouquet as well.
"Are you ready, Will?" Mabel asked softly. Will nodded, his lip trembling.
She linked arms with him, both of them walking to the car and driving to Gravity Fall's church.
Pretty much everyone in the town turned up to the funeral, each person sharing almost identical sad facial expressions. Mabel and Dipper's best friends, Skylar-Rose Darkheart and Pearl James came in together and the were standing by the wall consoling each other in an embrace.
"I.....I wish I had a chance to say goodbye to the poor darling" Pearl sobbed, her voice with a sharp British accent was thick and followed by more tears. Her red hair with ice blue tips was in a bun and she wore a gothic black dress and a blue ribbon on her left wrist which had black lace around the edge, her silver seashell locket dangled around her neck. She held onto a black parasol in her right hand.
Skylar cried, glancing at the scars on her arms before hugging Pearl tightly, she had brand new black jeans and a black long-sleeved shirt as well as black boots and a black hooded jacket.
"M-me too!" Sky replied, looking at her friend.
Mabel and Will approached them slowly, Pearl and Sky looking at them.
"I'm so sorry for your loss, Mabel" Pearl sighed sadly with a sniffle. Mabel nodded once to wordlessly thank her. Will sobbed, Sky looking at him then noticing the ring on his finger.
"Dipper's proposal?" Sky asked. Will glanced at her.
"Y-yes" he answered, Skylar hung her head with a soft groan of sympathy, which was rare since the two girls would work together with the twins to terrorize the demon.
"Let's go inside. We can't keep them waiting" Mabel urged, and all four went inside the chapel.*TIME SKIP TO THE BURIAL!*
The sky grew darker as the wind picked up, the funeral procession heading towards the awaiting grave in the cemetery, the grave was by a large oak tree which had leaves falling in colours of gold, orange and red like small flames.
Everyone stood as the coffin was placed on wooden planks which were over the open grave, the priest talking and leading prayers, Mabel and Will were next to each other, Will sobbed softly as the female Gleeful wiped her eyes with her blue handkerchief, giving it to Will who did the same.
A few people exchanged different memories, Pearl and Sky spoke about their friendship and the shows they participated in with the twins whenever they were there with Mabel and Dipper. After the memories were shared, it was time for the burial to begin.
Two undertakers ceremoniously placed the sky blue casket into the grave, taking the planks and ropes away.
Will and Mabel as well as Stan, Ford, Soos, Pearl, Skylar, Gideon and Pacifica placed their flowers on top of the coffin.
Stan and Ford took off the sheet of the headstone to reveal a statue of Dipper with angel wings, looking upwards towards the heavens, a gold plaque on the stone beneath the angel.
"REST IN PEACE
Here lies Gabriel Marcus Gleeful, a beloved son, great nephew, brother, performer, friend and fiancé.
We will all sorely miss you" read the headstone, a carving of a dove beneath the words.Soon almost everyone departed, including Pearl and Sky, leaving Mabel and Will alone.
Then and only then did Mabel feel free to burst out crying rather than the silent tears she shed before.
Will hugged her and she cried into his blazer, making it soaked.
He cried too.
In that moment they didn't feel like servant and mistress. Instead they seemed almost like old friends.
The wind ceased, a few sun's rays peeping through the clouds like nervous animals, and the gold light shone on the stone angel, the two remaining mourners staring at this sight; it was truly beautiful.
When they returned to the manor, they remembered the sombre but beautiful image of the sun on Dipper's grave, wondering if this was God's way of retrieving another angel for heaven.
