I feel it everywhere.Pain. Overwhelming pain.
From my shoulder straight down to my hip. As if a tiger scratched my entire back with its claws inches deep into my flesh.
I have to keep going, I can't give up. No, I won't give up.'I GIVE UP!'
But we all have lied to ourselves at some point haven't we?
'You've been slacking lately Ria.' My trainer Dean puts his hand forward and helps me get up. He's around 6ft 4 so to my 5ft 8 height it's like comparing a giraffe to a garden gnome.
'Yeah I know. It's just been tough lately ya know? School's been a bore and my agent hasn't been treating me the nicest. She wanted me to go for a 'Mango' photoshoot. Of all the shoots I've been requested to go to, she choses Mango!'Dean sits me down on a nearby chair and helps rub ointment on my bruises. 'Oh wow such a bummer. It must be so very tough. I feel so much for you. Here, have a cookie. That'll cheer you up.'
I knock down the chocolate chip cookie he shoved to my face. 'Haha very funny. It's just... How are we supposed to catch Rostro if my agent doesn't book a job that's for Armani?'
Have no idea who Rostro is or what anything in that last sentence means? Let me explain. Aldrich Rostro is a mobster and drug lord who happens to also run the brand Armani.
Classy.
He uses his control over the company as a disguise to smuggle a whole lot of illegal things to locations around the world. He does this so it's less likely that he would be caught because who would suspect an old Italian man who runs a fashion company to be the leader of one of the most dangerous mafia families to exist now?
It's said that he calls himself 'Capo Di Tutti Capi' or the boss of all bosses to how do I say this, assert dominance among the community?
Yeah, that will do.
And now, I've been assigned to find out more about what happens behind the scenes. How you may ask? Well by hopefully doing the SS17 shoot for Armani. That way I might be able to snoop a bit at their headquarters and see if I find anything fishy.
And that's currently whats going on in a nutshell.
Suddenly, a hand pops up and waves in front of my face. 'AAAH!'
'Woah Ria calm down. It's 6:30. You've got to get going to school.'
I pause. School? Now? After he literally breaks all 206 bones in my body? Nope. Not going to happen. Nuh uh.
'Do you really think I'm fit enough to go to school like this? It looks like I was attacked by a bear! I practically was since you were being so ruthless. Lets include the fact that a baby would be able to sleep on my eye bags since they're so big. I mean look at them!'
He pushes my face away from his, moments before I was about to slap the hell out of him. 'Does it look like you have another option? You have school like every other person here. Makeup will do the trick for your eye bags. And for your attitude, don't make me call May and tell her about it.'
I give him my best pout face. 'Come on Dean, please? I'll cook dinner tonight for all three of us. I'll even make your favourite beef lasagne. What do you say?'
Oh and did I forget the part where Dean is my trainer and also my 'brother'? Well I wish he was my biological brother. But doesn't mean he isn't considered family. He's one of the only ones I have left. After my parents... died, Aunt May moved her and myself to her family home here in London. Before, she never told me that she had a son a few years older than me. I only discovered that I had a cousin when I first walked into the cozy home she shared with Dean.
When she was away visiting me, Dean would usually stay by himself so naturally he was more mature as a young boy.
The first day I arrived and met him however, in no way showed this. When I walked into the house, he smacked a cream pie onto my face. And we've been attached by the hip ever since. So lets just say we used to do everything together. Even being trained to become the agents that we are.
We don't go on assignments together but we do train together whenever we can. It's just they way that it always has been.
The look he gave me was one filled with annoyance and understanding. 'No you can't skip school today Ria.'
'Hmph! Fine! But you're not getting lasagne this week!' I turn around and start walking towards the exit.
'See you at home!' he says. 'Yeah yeah sure okay.' I nonchalantly wave my hands.
I'm determined to get through the school day without feeling the urge to pull someones hair out.
Deep breathes. Okay, I'm ready.
School, come and get me.
