Matt didn't get into much trouble, as he was used to it and the principal knew he wouldn't care less or learn anything, even if he got expelled. She just called Matt's dad and explained what happened, his dad pretended he would tell him off and problem solved. He did get an "F" though.
But Matt's low grades was none of my concern, as I had other troubles.
"We have talked about this before! You are in no place to judge my friends!" I shout at my uncle.
"As long you do all this illegal stuff, it is!" he shouts back.
"We don't go up the cliffs anymore!"
"And where were you last night, huh? There wasn't any noise coming from next door!"
"We were bloody studying!"
"And why didn't you come home?" his stupid questions are tiring me.
"I fell asleep for God's sake! And you know what? I am done with this conversation, we will talk when you aren't mad for no reason." I tell my uncle and leave, but as soon as I reach the door, I hear him shout again.
"You're going next door again, aren't you?" he asks, but I stay silent, open the door and get out. There is no point in sneaking in and out anymore. My uncle knows very well that he can't stop me from going to the Party House, so why keep hiding?
I take out the keys Matt had given me some time ago and open the door. I cursed under my breath. My uncle makes my blood boil lately. I mean, what's the deal with him?
My anger must have been showing, because the others noticed when we were playing MONOPOLY, again. There wasn't anything to clean up, there was no party last night.
"Okay, will you tell us what's wrong before you murder the board with your piece?" Matt asks.
"It's nothing." I sigh.
"Tell that to the table." Sylvia replies and they all stare at me. They know how awkward that makes me feel.
"It's my uncle, now stop it." I say.
"Stop what?" Eliza asks innocently.
"You know what." I reply.
"What did he do, again?" Chase asks.
"Guys, it's nothing, really." I say. They just stare again. "Please don't do that..."
"He told you off about last night, didn't he?" Matt asks. I looked down. He got up and got out of the room.
"Matt, wait..." I say, but he's already out. I get up and follow him.
That's exactly why I didn't want to talk about it. Matt told me to stay over for the night and it made my uncle mad. Now he was feeling guilty.
"Matt, wait." I tell him.
"What?" He asks and I flinch. Okay, he is angry.
"What are you mad about?" I ask. He turns around and walks away again. "Don't do that, I am not going to ignore you and go back to the others. You should know better than that. Now tell me what's wrong."
"I- It's my fault. You didn't go home last night, even though your uncle knew you were away. You said he would be worried and I just insisted--"
"I am going to stop you right there. I chose to stay over. You didn't make me do anything. Besides, I have been arguing with my uncle for a long time now." I smile awkwardly.
"Whatever..." He turns away and walks outside.
"What is wrong with you?"
"Nothing."
