Let Her Go

Chapter 2

Several Years Later...

Rey's POV

I climb up the hill like I do everyday since I was six. As I get to the top I see Ben's black hair. I run up there and sit down behind him. I lean against his back.

"Hey Rey," Ben says leaning back. "How was your day?"

"It was fine," I say twisting flowers together to make a crown. "How was yours?"

"It was sucky as always," he sighed.

I stand up and move beside him. I looked at him. "Did your dad not come today like he said?"

He shakes his head. "I'm sorry," I say as I continue to make my flower crown. When I finish I place it on Ben's head.

He reaches up and takes it off. "Another beautiful flower crown as always," he said smiling down at it. He looks up at he. "I feel like I'm forgetting something."

"It is my birthday tomorrow," I say.

"Yes, that's it. And I meant to thank you for that, now I don't have to go to class tomorrow," Ben says teasing me.

"Whatever," I say punching his arm.

"It is a big time. You're turning sixteen. You get a big party and everyone at camp is going to be there," Ben says.

I look out at the sunset. I turn to Ben, who was laying on his back. "We should stay out and look at the stars tonight," Ben says.

"Sorry, no can do. I agreed to meet up with Lucifer in a little bit," I say standing up stretching.

Ben stands up and mets me with a death stare. "What? Can I not have any friends that are boys?" I say jumping up on a rock so that I was taller than him.

"No. No your not."

"Oh come on,"I say throwing my hands up.

"You're like my little sister and in supposed to protect you from evil boys," Ben says jumping up on the rock with me.

I flip of the rock trying to show off knowing that Ben couldn't. "Whatever, you can't stop me," I say laughing.

He jumps down next to me. I try to run but Ben picks me up off the ground. He slings me over his shoulder. "I think you have been stopped," he says laughing as I pound on his back.

He drops me to the ground. "Alright, I'll see you later okay?"

I smile. "Of course I will."

I walk down the hill. I head over to where Lucifer told me to meet him. I see him standing there as I get there. I run up to him. "Hey Lucifer," I say.

"Hey Rey," he said.

"So why did you want to meet up with me?"

"I'll show you," Lucifer said taking my hand. He starts running and I follow him to wherever we are going.

After several minutes of running we finally stop. "Alright close your eyes," Lucifer said.

I close my eyes. He pulls in my hand and I follow him. I hear water. I open my eyes. I gasp. "It's beautiful," I say starring at a waterfall before me.

"Almost beautiful as you," Lucifer say pushing a stray piece of hair behind my ear.

I feel myself blush. I feel Lucifer pull me close to him. His lips brush mine. I jump at the feeling. "I love you Rey," he whispers.

I step back. "What? Do you not feel the same way? Don't worry, you will," Lucifer say stepping towards me.

"Lucifer, stop," I say still backing up. My back hits a wall of rock.

Lucifer pushed me up against the wall. As he came closer I screamed.

Ben's POV

As I walk down the hill, I hear someone scream. Rey. I sprint towards the screaming.

"Rey," I yell as I run. I hear her scream again. I hear a waterfall. I push through a bunch of vines and see Lucifer pushing her up against a wall. He was kissing her.

Rey kept trying to lash out at him but he was to strong. "Ben," she yells seeing me.

"Let her go Lucifer," I yell at him. He freezes Rey and takes out his lightsaber. "Here to save my girlfriend," he said igniting his saber. I take out mine as well.

"Let her go," I say through gritted teeth.   I swing my saber at him and he mets mine with his. "Never," Lucifer says starring at me with wide eyes.

After several minutes, Lucifer lays on the ground. "Let her go now," I say pointing my lightsaber at his throat.

"Fine," he huffs. I watch Rey fall to the ground. I sprint over to her. She stands up and wraps her arms around me. "I'll be back for you Rey," Lucifer yells running away.

Rey starts sobbing into my chest. I sit down and hold her in my arms. I stroke her hair, calming her down.

"He-he tried t-to," she cried.

"You're okay now. I've got you," I say.

I pick her up in my arms and I carry her back to our rooms. I go to her room and open the door. I set her down on her bed. I turn to walk out of the room.

"Can you stay with me tonight," she says looking at me with tears still falling.

I nod and walk over to her bed and climb in next to her.

"I should have listened to you," Rey says.

"Hey, you did know that was going to happen," I whisper.

"I love you Ben," Rey whispers as she drifts off to sleep.

"I love you too Rey."
