Part 11!!!

Derek pov
I walked into the room and saw Lexi laying on the bed fast asleep on johns shoulder.

John looked over at me from the bed and smiled. He looked happy, yet scared for his life.

"Thank you for watching my sister luh," he said barely audible.

"Bro, are you going to die?" I whispered not trying to wake up Lexi. I didn't wanna scare her any more than she was. He's all the biological family the poor girl has left.

John nodded his head, "I'm not sure man, I could, but I also couldn't."

His eyes shifted from me to the small girl asleep on his shoulder. You could tell just by the look in his eyes that he loved her.

"Please don't leave me." Lexi croaked.

I guess she was awake and was listening to the conversation we just had. I felt bad for her.

"Baby doll, I don't want to leave you," John paused brushing the hair out of her face, "I may not have a choice."

"Johnny, no!" She said practically jumping out of the bed.

"Lexi, don't please! It's already hard enough!" He snapped at her. She just stared at him in shock.

She stormed out of the room leaving it to just me and John. He through his hands up over his eyes while whispering something to himself.

"John, don't worry. She'll come back." I reassured him, giving a small smile.

"Derek, please just take care of her for me." He pleaded me.

"Always man, always." I said, "get some rest. We'll be back later." And with that I walked out.

Lexi POV
"He can't leave me! He can't! He's all I have left and if he dies I have no family left! My parents are gone, and johns on the verge of being gone. What will I do with my life?!" I spoke to myself.

"You'll live your life the way you're doing now."

I looked up to see Derek towering above me. He looked at me with a serious face, "you have to stay strong for them. Be strong for your parents, be strong for John. You're a swift, you gotta show the strong side." He said pulling me into a side hug. I laid my head on his shoulder. Derek has always been like a brother to me and I'm glad he's still around. I don't know where I would be without him.

"Thanks." I whispered.

"Let's go home and watch movies, we'll come back later to see John, okay?" He proposed the offer to me.

"Okay, but only if we watch 'The Outsiders'! Pony it is mine!" I said with a smile.

He chuckled, "okay fine, but Soda is mine!" He said playing along.

And from there we went home.
