A couple days after they decided on their summer plan, they started their trip. Grayson packed clothes, tissues, a pillow and blanket and a first aid kit. Chase packed clothes, a knife, and spray paint. Grayson packed for Chase's safety, while Chase packed for vandalism.
Honestly it was Chase's nature, wherever he went, he destroyed. The only place he wouldn't destroy is his home town and his grandparent's places. They left around 6 am, on June 28th. Chase was the first one driving, knowing that Grayson received little sleep the night before.
Grayson slept in the back, as Chase drove the first couple hours. He was a bit nervous, knowing that he had a slight chance of seeing Victoria in Midland. Midland was different from Waukegan, same size, different people, weather and atmosphere in general.
Chase plugged his phone into the car's aux cord, playing a random song from his playlist. He quietly hummed the song, soon seeing the road sign,
" MISSOURI STATE LINE "
He smiled and stopped at a gas station, causing Grayson to wake up. As Chase pumped the gas into the car, Grayson went inside the store, buying chips, soda, and water. He walked back to the car, seeing Chase done with pumping the gas.
Grayson asked, "Do you want me to drive?" Chase nodded, getting into the passengers seat. Grayson got in the drivers seat and started the car, driving onto the highway. Chase started blasting music throughout the car as Grayson looked at him laughing. They soon passed the Arch in St. Louis.
-TIME SKIP-
They were soon in Oklahoma, stopping for gas once again. After refilling the car tank with gas, Chase decided to drive again, knowing how much Grayson didn't like Oklahoma. Grayson decided to take another nap in the back of the car, only nine hours left until midland. Chase sighed looking at the time and thought to himself, 'I want food.. it's already 3 pm. None of the food is good here, fucking hell.'
-TIME SKIP-
Chase drove the rest of the way to Midland, stopping at his old middle school/junior high. He got out of the car and looked back, "Sweet dreams Grayson." Chase slowly walked to the benches near the patio entrance, sitting down, staring at the emptiness of the patio.
