"You can have my my bed," Rachel stood above him.
Garfield looked up, then shook his head. "No I'll sleep on the sofa."
"Gar, you need it more then me. I'm not the one who's been sleeping in the cemetery for days," she said with a monotone.
"I'll be fine," he yawned, stretching his arms over his head.
Rachel shook her head," I'm not letting you sleep on the sofa."
Garfield stood up and loomed over her, bringing his voice to a low whisper. "Fine, I'll sleep in the bed... If you sleep with me."
This sent shivers up and down Rachel's spine. However she kept her cool, her body tense.
"N-no way," she said firmly.
"Then it's the sofa for me," Garfield mumbled, about to sit back down.
"...wait."
He stopped. Rachel bit her lip and glanced away, hesitating.
"I guess since you aren't dating anyone... And plus we're just friends right?" She said in a small voice.
Garfield frowned,"Just friends... Right."
She bit her lip and started walking toward her bedroom,"Over here."
Rachel opened the door and picked up a few things around her room. Garfield leaned against the doorframe with crossed arms. The only light on was the hallway, which shined over him. Unlike Rachel who was in the dark of her room. It was like a line, straight across the bedroom and separating the two. Garfield looked down at it, only seconds after Rachel did the same.
"Can I take a shower?" He asked, pulling himself off the frame.
She nodded slowly, "Yeah, the towels are in the bathroom already."
Garfield disappeared, the light shining where he stood. Rachel plopped herself on the bed, pulling her pale legs up to her face. She couldn't believe she was doing this, and she still didn't tell him about what Terra did. Did she even want to tell him? Her phone buzzed on the bed, making her jump a little.
Rachel what happened? Why didn't you go to school? Are you ok?
It was Jinx, so she replied.
I'm fine, don't tell anyone but Garfield's at my house, he isn't feeling well so
I stayed with him. He's staying the night with me, we'll be at school tomorrow...Be careful Rachel, I heard that Terra and Garfield broke up because of you
She blinked at her text message before her fingers tapped over the keyboard.
What, how do you know?
Terra, she's saying that you and Garfield were dating behind her back and you're a boyfriend stealer and all that shit. I got your back Rachel, they can't mess with you if I'm around.
Rachel smile weakly at this.
Thanks Jinx :)
No problem Rae
Rachel leaned back and put her phone on her dresser. It was her fault, now her life will be a mess because she apparently stole Terra's boyfriend. She can't date him, Rachel literally wanted to cry. But of course she didn't. Instead she closed her eyes and found herself drifting off to sleep. When a click woke her up, she sat up straight in alert. Garfield stood by the door again...
In only his boxers.
His blonde hair was wet and sticking up in weird places, yet it gave him that wild look. Rachel's eyes lingered over him, a blush taking over her pale cheeks. Tearing her eyes away she fell back and dug her face into a pillow. She heard him chuckle deeply, slowly making his way over to her.
"What's wrong Rae?" He asked, a tint of taunting in his voice.
Rachel whirled up and hit him in the chest with a pillow, although it didn't to much.
"Leave me alone," she snapped, her face hot.
Garfield scanned her face and sat on the bed. "What's wrong?"
Rachel pushed herself up against the headboard.
"What do you mean?"
"Well your eyes are all misty lookin'," he said.
She wiped her eyes," I'm fine."
Garfield sighed in frustration as he put his head in his hands. "You're not fine, stop lying Rachel damn it."
Rachel glared," I'm not lying."
"Yes you fucking are, do you think I'm that stupid, just tell me what the heck is wrong with you!?" he started raising his voice.
"Just stop Gar-"
"No! You stop, it's so hard to get through to you, put down your damn walls, at least for me," he stressed, turning his body so that he was looking at her.
"I-I can't!" Rachel spat, rubbing her temples.
"Why the fuck not?" He said through gritted teeth.
She threw a pillow at him," because your damn ex girlfriend!"
Garfield arched an eyebrow,"What about her?"
"She fucking slapped me, in front of the whole damn school. They hate me, everyone does. Because they think that I stole you from Terra!" Rachel spilled, slamming her fists on the bed.
Garfield just looked at her, he saw the fear in her eyes, her beautiful blue eyes that almost looked purple. He climbed toward her, squinting his emerald green eyes. Rachel was fuming, leaning away with her jet black hair falling in front of her face. Garfield moved strands away from her face and placed a kiss on her forehead.
"You didn't steal me, I wanted to steal you, Terra's nothing to me, not anymore, I left because I'm in love with you," he whispered.
Rachel shook her head and pushed his hand away. "No you're not, you just think you are."
"What can I do that will make you believe me?" He asked, leaning toward her.
"If you love me..." She looked away,"Let me go."
"...what?"
"It's the only thing you can do, I'm sorry Garfield," Rachel mumbled, laying down.
He stayed sitting up, but slowly followed her and laid down. Turned toward her, facing her back which was bare. His eyes wandered her beautiful body, he knew he was in love, he never could just let her go. Maybe he was selfish but he just couldn't.
"I'm not giving you up without a fight," he whispered.
Rachel shivered and closed her eyes.
"Terra won't give you up that easily either."
