A period passes,then another,and then another.Still,no one came in.She remained in the corner,head in hands.The sink still dripped,crashing against the silence.Thoughts raced through her head,yet her expression was blank.All she knew was that she wasn't getting out this bathroom until the day was over and everyone left.Finally the sting vanished from her cheek,but a red mark was left in it's place.
Rachel brushed the wild strands of hair from her face,breathing in relief.For the last two periods,she had been shaking.Now,she felt slightly calm,still she was shaken up.She balled her hands into fist,thinking of the memory of the slap.Then,she thought of her and Garfield's 'date' which is clearly wasn't.
'If I only didn't answer that damn text....'she thought in disgust.
It was all her fault,according to her.None of this would of happened if she hadn't befriended Garfield.What was she thinking?More importantly what was he thinking?Did Garfield even really like her?Rachel growled in frustration,grabbing a handful of her hair.Love is complicated.
Her thoughts were interrupted by the bathroom door slowly opening.She paused,holding her breath.Rachel was ready for the impact,knowing it had to be Terra.Her shoulders tensed,her fists shaking.However,when the door fully opened,Kori stepped in.Rachel had never felt happier.She released the breath she was holding in and her body relaxed.
Kori stayed quiet,then found Rachel in the corner.Her eyes lit up as a smile formed on her face.She ran to Rachel,plopping down on the floor next to her.Kori opened her arms,leaning forward and capturing Rachel in a bone crushing hug.Her first reaction was to cringe and move.But this time...she didn't want too.Instead of scowling,Rachel wrapped her own arms around Kori.
"Friend Rachel,I have been so worried,"She choked out.
Kori had tears fall from her face as she sniffled,giving Rachel a gentle squeeze.Blinking,Rachel rested her head on
Kori's shoulder,relaxing.
"I have heard...what happened...."she whispered.
Rachel stiffened slightly,"...."
Kori pulled back,looking directly in her eyes.
"...Friend Terr-er Terra was out of line.I am so sorry...."She said sternly,leaving her hands on Rachel's shoulders.
She looked away,"It wasn't your fault Kori.It was mine,I shouldn't of went with Gar-"
"No Friend Rachel.He is your friend,and he is mine.Terra should respect that.Not by doing the violence."Kori said sadly,rubbing Rachel's sore cheek.
Again,she wanted to cry,but they did not fall.Instead she gave a weak smile since she did not smile often.
"I know...Thank you Kori...."
Kori looked down with sadness,"But I did not do anything."
Rachel looked at her with disbelief,shaking her head slowly.
"Kori,what are you saying?You did the one thing that no one has ever done to me....You stayed by my side...Even if I was pushing you away,you were determined and kept coming back.You and Gar,and even the others gave me something that I have never had before......"Rachel choked out.
Kori brushed strands of hair from her face,"And what's that?"
Another weak smile was formed on her face as Rachel was the one to capture Kori in a hug.Giving her a tight squeeze,she inhaled deeply.
"A friend....."
Happiness filled Kori as she returned the hug.More fresh tears fell from her face,but this time it was happy tears.She had her eyes squeezed tight as a wide smile formed on her face.
"Friend Rachel,you have made me so happy,"Kori whispered,pulling back.
Rachel chuckled,"You've made me feel the same way."
The both of then stared at each other,then started laughing and chuckling happily.When one more period pasted,Kori glanced down at her diamond dazzled watch.
"It is lunch.Please,let us go enjoy it,"She suggested.
Rachel's smile vanished almost instantly.
"But Kori,the whole school thinks I'm a slut...."she said as she but her lip.
Kori waved her hand dismissively,"We go in together.I shall stand by your side.No matter what."
Rachel's heart lifted as she stood confidently.She extended her hand as Kori took it.Pulling her up,she smiled,releasing her hand.
"Let us go!"Kori cheered,leading the two out of the bathroom.

The lunchroom filled with whispers as the two headed for an empty table.Ignoring the others,they sat down across from each other with their lunches.Rachel,not caring any more,had her hood down for the first time.She blocked out the scowling students and concentrated on Kori.
"Just do the ignoring Rachel,"Kori whispered to her,picking up a stale bread stick.
Rachel nodded firmly,merely sipping from her tea.
"Hey Rachel."
She looked up to see Dick,frowning with arms crossed.He slipped in next to Kori,tapping his fingers against the table.
"Hey Dick..."she mumbled,sipping more tea.
He pushed his shades on his nose higher,wrapping an arm around Kori's waist.
"Rachel,ignore all these asses,they know nothing,"Dick hissed.
Rachel nodded,gripping the cup that held her tea.Two minutes later Victor and Karen walked up to Rachel.He had a frown while she had soft eyes.
"Are you ok Rachel?"Victor asked,popping his knuckles.
She nodded as both of them slipped in next to her.Sighing,she sipped more,looking around.Realizing that their hisses and snarls slightly silenced,she relaxed.However,she looked at the doors to see Jinx coming in.Rachel stiffened,watching her come to the table with sadness and guilt in her eyes.Wordless,Jinx slipped in next to Rachel and turned to her.
Looking directly into her eyes,Jinx wrapped her arms around Rachel and squeezed her tightly.
"I am so sorry Rachel.I-I cant believe I didn't do anything.I should of stepped in between you and Terra so I could be hit.I-I was just shocked and scared.I was an idiot not to believe my only friend.I should of punched Terra right in face,I should of took up for you,and went to find you.I'm so sorry,so so sorry,"Jinx choked out,a single tear falling from her eye.
Rachel snaked her arms around her,"It's ok."
"No.No it's not ok.I'm horrible person,I can't forgive myself.I'm so sorry,"she whimpered.
Closing her eyes,Rachel rubbed her back,"It's ok.You're forgiven...."
The whole cafeteria watched in silence,even Terra and her little group watched intensely.Both pulled back,Rachel looking at a depressed Jinx.
"I love you Jinx.As a friend and as a sister.And sisters forgive each other,"Rachel said softly.
Jinx was shocked at her words.It soon vanished and a smile took it's place.
"I love you too Little Blue."
Rachel wiped that one tear away,"I know Punk Rocker."
