Ashton's P.O.V.~
I sat on the bed, waiting for the man to wake up. Soon enough, his eyes fluttered open, his dulling green eyes opening. His mouth opened, but when he looked at me, he closed it.
"Where's Clay? Where am I? Who are you?"
I give him a confused look. "I don't know who this 'Clay' is. Right now, your in my house in Ninjago. I'm Ashton Fox.
"Now, you've lived in my house for eight years. Who are you?"
He sat up, and I noticed he was shaking lightly. "I'm Aaron Fox. I- I need to get back to Knighton! Clay- he's probably- how do I get back?"
"The Realm Crystal. But, you are in no condition to be realm skipping," I warn, but he was already standing up. I put my hand on his shoulder, pushing him down lightly. "You need to understand that you aren't normal anymore."
"Let me go," he said, his eyes burning into my own.
I growl, shaking my head. "No. You aren't going anywhere until we know what you can do."
Suddenly, his eyes closed, opening them to look at me with dragon-like eyes. His hands changed, hands turning to talons. Pushing me off, he changed into this red-orange dragon with emerald eyes. He roared in my face, flapping his wings wildly.
"Hey, calm down, Aaron," I grip one of his horns with my right hand, resting my left hand in between his eyes. "You're confused, stressed, afraid. I get it. But you need to calm down."
Aaron's blinked, his eyes turning back to normal. He sat back, slowly changing back. He met my blue eyes, breathing hard. "What was that?"
I give him a confused look. "You're the Master of Animals, like me. How are you, though? I've never had any other family besides-"
"Ashton!"
I groan, standing up and turning to see Jay running into the room. "Yes, Motor-Mouth?"
He looked at Aaron confused, but locked eyes with me. "Who's the guy?"
"Jay, this is Aaron, another Master of Animals. Aaron, this is Jay, Master of Lightning. And talking."
"Wait," Jay said, "doesn't that mean you're related?"
I roll my eyes, turning to the other Fox. "Change back."
He gave me a confused look. "How?"
Without saying anything, I close my eyes, growling as everything seemed to contort inside. Within seconds, I was a dragon that looked exactly like Aaron had, just slightly larger, sapphire blue eyes, and darker in color.
He had some issues changing back, but did after ten minutes. I walk out of my house, having the two others follow close behind.
My wings fluttered, feeling the small breeze in the air. I turn back to Aaron, charging fire in my mouth. Slowly, I graze his right wing with the bright flame, doing the same with my right wing. Small, red veins showed lightly, but a shape formed in a dark, ashy color.
Mine looked like a bunch of swirls branching off each other. Looking closely, I saw he had the exact same design on his wing.
Quickly, I take his left talon in mine, seeing he had three vertical indents in it, along with a curved diagonal line going through them. His match mine.
Aaron groan, changing back into a human due to weakness. I change back, too, keeping his hand in mine.
"How? How are you my-"
Jay just looked at us, mystified. "Does that mean you two are soulmates?"
Aaron looked at me with fear. "No! I'm sorry if we are, but I have a family. Clay would be my-"
I hugged him, stopping his panic. "You're related to me. You're my brother, somehow."
He gave me a confused look. "How do you know?"
"Your wings have the exact same design as mine, and your talons have the exact same markings on it. If it were slightly different, then you would be a cousin of some sort, but exactly the same.
"Haven't had a sibling before."
Zane and Cole came running over to us. Jay looked nervous, but watched the two ninja.
"Ashton," the nindroid said, "they're back."
I growl, standing up. "Where?"
Zane gave me a note, making me confused. Still, I open it up.
'We know there may be two shifters, Ashton. Give yourselves up, or else.'
Sighing, I help Aaron up to his feet. "You need to learn how to control that power."
"Why?" Aaron asked. "What is it? What's going on?"
I cover my eyes for a second, muttering curses. "You see, I'm a huge target for my power. Now, it seems like Morro knows about you. And because you're weak, he could kill you in a matter of seconds."
Aaron looked at me with worry. "Then, I'll-"
"Don't bring armor into this," I interrupt. "That would stop you from shifting into a large beast. You need to learn that now."
He looked down, and I noticed a tear roll down his face.
Growling, I made him meet my eyes. "What would help you focus? Going to Clay and being there with him?"
"You could take me back?" His eyes were full of hope and happiness.
"Only if you promise me that you'll wake up early and focus on me during training."
"Yes," he said, pulling me into a hug. "Thank you!"
I hug him back, thinking if I made the right choice.
