Harry POV
"Gee, I thought a rescue involved me actually getting out of here, but maybe I was wrong!" That's how I knew he was awake. We all turned to see him trying (and failing miserably) to sit up. Now I could see why everyone thought I looked like him; take away my scar, give me brown eyes, and replace my circular-framed glasses with rectangular ones, and I'd be his clone. He had the same jet black hair, same face, and even the same taste in clothing as I did. I couldn't believe my eyes, my parents were right here. The very people that I had yearned to see ever since I was dropped off on the Dursley's doorstep were both within 20 feet of me, and both of them were now fully conscious!
Sirius was the first to react, shooting back another sly remark, "Well if you had been awake when we got here, maybe we'd be out by now." My dad makes a face at Sirius and tries to get up. This fails and results in mom and Sirius rushing over to help him. As he finally gets up, the highly anticipated question is asked: "So uh, what's with Peter? Has he gone crazy?!" Remus sighs, "I really do wish that was the case, James. But maybe we should explain that later, as Peter could wake up any second now." Sirius gives him a look that says "thank you" and starts helping my dad over to the window. The rest of us follow suit, and once we are all out, we start to walk to the apparition border that spans about one mile out in each direction. During the walk, no one speaks, we're all too shocked to say anything. Why Peter would do anything like this is beyond us, but nobody says anything about that either.
Once we reach the border, I apparate us back to the lobby of the Ministry. Standing about fifty feet away are Ron, Hermione, Kingsley and Percy; all in a huddle. "Hi guys!" Tonks chirps, "We're back!" They all turn around with varying looks of surprise covering their faces. Kingsley is the first to speak, "Well that was fast." He says, walking over to us at a quicker pace than normal. "Maybe you should get them to St. Mungo's." I nod and start to walk over, but he stops me, "No." Kingsley says, "Not you, Remus and Sirius will take this one." The two nod at Kingsley and start to take my parents to the hospital as he says: "Harry, you'll need to fill out a mission report." And walks me away.
As I begin to walk on my own over to my office, a startled voice calls from behind. "Wait, Harry?" It says, as if surprised to see me. When I turn around, I can see that it was my dad who made the call. He manages to stumble out of Sirius's arms and over to me, barely making it, so I'm able to catch him. For a good minute, it's just us looking at each other in disbelief, not able to comprehend the man standing before them. Then he envelopes me in a bone-crushing hug, but it doesn't feel that way, because he's my dad, and oh my god he's here, hugging me. I manage to hug him back, already tearing up behind my glasses; and at the moment, nothing else matters. Seconds later, I can feel my mother on the other side of me, joining the embrace, and I start to tear up even more, letting a stray one make its way down my face. "I can't believe what a man you've become." He whispers, earning a nod of agreement from my mother in response. And for a moment, we just stay there, hugging like it's the end of the world, until a grinning Sirius and Remus have to take them to St. Mungo's and I have to fill out a report. But a part of me doesn't care if they'll have to go, because I've seen them, and that's all that matters.A/N:
Hi guys! Originally, this was gonna be a shorter chapter, but then inspiration took hold and I kept writing. I'm really sorry this is a bit late, but I hope the wait was worth it!Yours truly,
