    Ch.4

"Basically u have a foundation and you stack it up with building blocks of lies and you sprinkle a little truth on it and bam you got  a boom-tasic cake", Araiya said sprawled across a bean  bag.

Araiya is Jamaican and Puerto Rican.

The best way I can describe her personally is stupid funny. She had light brown eyes. Araiya is loud not afraid to speak her  mind. She claims she doesn't like drama but yet she is in the center of it.

11:59 I am sleeping over Araiya's house. She gives me one of her famous quotes while I tell her what happened in the mall.

"Well his 'cake' doesn't excuse him. He can enjoy not talking to me", I say rolling in my cocoon of a blanket on Araiya's fuzzy rug with a body pillow.

Araiya gave that 'I can't change your mind' shrug. She put on some movie but I didn't know what it was. So I got comfortable and fell asleep.

*-*

It's been a couple of days since the mall event and I  haven't talked to Elijah. I like eating my lunch in the theater room with my friends. The cafeteria is too much hustle and bustle for me. I also bring my own lunch. I mean school lunch is just nasty. What kind of kid says I love the 'meat' in the school lunch. Anyways I sit reversed on a moveable chair eating grapes. Ariya comes up to my face.

"Have you talk to him yet?"

"Nope."

"Why not?"

"I'm annoyed with him. Why do I have to?"

"You have to talk to him sometime."

"Yeah. Sometime in the future."

I eat my grapes and spin around in the chair. Araiya stops my chair from spinning. I pout my face.

"Rude."

"Talk to him or else."

"Or else what?"

She takes me by my legs and drags me across the floor. I grab onto a doorknob and hold on for dear life.

"Fine!"

Araiya smiles and helps me up. She does this move along thing with her hands. I walk around for two minutes and find Elijah. He is sitting with his friends. Ugh.

I walk slowly hoping that the bell would ring telling us lunch is over. He see me and jogs over to me.

"Savvy!"

He puts his arms around my neck pulling me into him. I get engulfed in his hug. I hold onto to his biceps like I'm doing a pull up. I pull away and put my hands on my hips.

"Where have you been the last couple of days?"

"School."

Elijah has a gigantic smile on his face like I'm the most interesting person in the world.

"Why have you been avoiding me?", he laughs.

"Well Elijah, I have to tell you something."

I take a deep. Confessing a murder would be easier than this. Telling him I like him.

"Actually I have been avoiding you and the reason is-

The bell rang. Elijah said bye to me and gave me a kiss on my cheek. In seconds Elijah runs out of sight. I walk back to the theater room in a daze. A couple periods later I am finally I'm out of school. I fumble with my locker for a minute because I just got the combination. As I organize my locker Colton approaches me.
