BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. Suitcase fluttered her eyes open, already dreading today. Why do alarm clocks need act so unbearably obnoxious? She groaned as she sat up and lazily smacked her hand onto the power button. The dark blue eyed brunette stared blankly at a wall for a good three minutes, wondering why she agreed to move in the first place.

She wants her mom to be happy with her new promotion at the cosmetics company she works for, 'Beauty in Blue', but at the same time Suitcase would have DEFINITELY preferred to stay back in Ohio. California is a pretty cool place so far, but anything can go bad at anytime from what she's learned. Like school, for example.

In preschool, you didn't have to worry about projects or assignments or school drama, all you had to think about was what kind of sandwich your mom packed in your lunch and coloring inside the lines. It was a tedious process back then, but it was an easy and fun time. Then came kindergarten, which was slightly harder, with some homework added to your schedule. Then the rest of elementary and middle school just got progressively more difficult and confusing. Anyway, back to the main point, things change, whether it's for the best or the worst, and she had the feeling this could go either way, but hoped for the better.

"Suitcase, get ready and quit dilly dallying!" She heard her mom yell to her from downstairs. Suitcase got up, and put on a black cami, with a peach see-through button up shirt over top of it, and a pair of slightly ripped jeans. She did everything else she usually did in the morning, and just wore her hair straight down. She also put on my lucky gold bead necklace and a pair of matching earrings that her dad had given her before he passed. Suitcase has never gone out of the house without it, and was her personal lucky charm.

"Sweetie, promise me that even if I'm not around, you'll always remember. You're braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. I want you to wear this necklace to make sure you remember that. I love you." Her fathers last words to her echoed through her head, making her smile at herself. As she looked at the necklace one last time, she heard the same voice yelling at her from the kitchen. "SUITCASE! Hurry up, you'll be late! You know as well as I do that being late the first day will give a bad first impression!"

She snapped out of her daydream, and ran downstair to see her mom waiting for her at the table downstairs. She had a plate of pancakes and strawberries for her at the table, and Suitcase happily skipped over to eat it. "Only concealer and mascara? I told you, I can bring you home some make up from work." Suitcase looked up from her plate, "Mom, I don't need to cake myself with make up to look pretty. I don't even care about that anyways, all I care about today is to make some friends!"

Her mom sighed and smiled. She was considerably different from her daughter. Her mom was a make up fanatic, considering she worked for one of the best make up companies out there. She didn't have any on at the moment, which was rare since it was usually the first thing her mom did in the morning. The only reason why was to make Suitcase breakfast, and that took a bit of time, simply because she wasn't exactly a 5 star chef, and had to be extra carefully when cooking something so she didn't poison anyone or set anything on fire.

"So, are you excited?" She asked Suitcase, who swallowed her pancake and answered, "I wouldn't say that... I'm just super nervous... What if I don't fit in?" Her mom reassured her. "Honey, you will fit in. Trust me, you're gonna be perfectly fine." Suitcase grinned at her, still not 100% sure. "Okay, thanks mom. Let's go." Suitcase put her plate in the sink and headed out to the car, her mom following suit. Her mom opened the garage and started the car, while Suitcase put on a pair of brown slip on shoes.

She got in the car, and they drove off. When they arrived, her mom waved goodbye and told her, "I love you." Suitcase waved back and said, "I love you too." She walked out of the car and ran up the steps to the front door, pushing it open and racing to her locker, hoping she wouldn't be late. She put everything away, and got out her stuff for the next few bells. While slamming the locker door she realized something; she had no idea where she was going! Suitcase panicked, clutching her books near her chest and frantically looking around at the room numbers and her schedule. "You look like you need help."
